Changing your foglamp bulbs

This page gives detailed instructions on how to change the H3 bulbs in your stock foglamps. Any questions or comments, please feel free to email me.
This is a fairly easy process-just a few bolts and you are done. Start by removing the three 10mm bolts holding the fog lamp in place. These three bolts are marked with the red dots (this is a picture of the driver side foglamp).
With the foglamp unbolted, it will almost fall right out of the opening. There is a large gray cap on the back- simply turn this counter-clockwise to open and to access the bulb connectors. You will find one wire running to a brass terminal on the outermost portion of the inside ring of the foglamp. Pull this up towards you and disconnect it.
Looking down into the back of the foglamp, you will see a thin metal locking wire holding the bulb firmly in place. Push this towards the middle of the housing and down to unlatch it.
Flip the metal wire up- it hinges at the small screw you see on the outside edge.
On the inside of the gray cap you removed earlier, you will find the other half of the connection- it is clipped to the gray cap. A gentle pry will pop it free.
With the connector free, pull it apart. The bulb should be free of the foglamp housing now. It's time to put the new one in.
You will notice if you look carefully at your old or your replacement bulb, that one side of the metal base has a semicircle-shaped notch in it, and the other side is square. These bulbs only fit one way- just pay attention to that. Also, ensure you do not touch the glass of the bulb, especially with higher wattage bulbs. The oils in your skin will shorten bulb life dramatically.
