Well here it is at long last, my first feature car thread, and I’m glad to say im kicking it all off with a super WRX STI Type R owned by Keith Waterhouse (Keith Dublin)

The location chosen by Keith was the car park at the Tivoli Theatre in the heart of Dublin city and I really don’t think a better location could have been found for the shoot, the art work is emmense and to actually appreciate it you would need to see it in the flesh and with so much colour on the walls the reflections on the type R’s freshly polished paint were amazing,we’ll let the pictures speak for them selves.

How long have you had the car?

I have the car for nearly 5 years. I always wanted a grey Type R.

How was the car sourced?

After going to see loads of Type R’s I seen the car on auto trader. I bought it from a lad in Longford who imported it from the UK.

What makes the car so special to you?

What makes the car so special to me is the way it handles. It just sticks to the road and the way it pulls through the gears makes you smile every time.

What does the club mean to you?

I have been in the ISDC now for a long time. Had some great times and have made some friends for life. It’s always good to meet up whether it be an overseas event or a monthly night meet. They are a great bunch of lads and lassies.

What changes are you going to make to your car?

Now thats a tough one….if the war office (the wife) lets me I will be looking for 450 BHP soon, but loads of breakfasts in bed before that happens and maybe some new wheels and a new boot lid with no spoiler so that I can swap it around sometimes.

What are you seeking from your car?

Some day down the line I will make her into a track toy and maybe get a new age blob eye for the road.

When if at all will you replace the car?

Don’t think I’ll ever sell the car I just think it would make a nice track weapon some day.

Engine

isdc It’s pretty standard at the moment. Some small stuff like 3 port boost solinoid, Samco hose kit, Decatted exhaust and Mapped by Andy Forrest in the UK. Never had it on the dyno so not sure what power its putting out.

1999 Subaru Impreza WRX STi-V Type-R


Version V (09/98-08/99) – GC8F

The power stayed the same as the previous version 280bhp. The engine layout and design was made cleaner and was dubbed as the Boxer Phase 2 engine. The facelift the rest of the Impreza line had was also applied to the STi. The WRX STi weighed 1,270 kg (2,800 lb). There were 1000 WRX Type RA STi Version 5 Limited cars and the WRX Type R STi Version 5 Limited cars had a 4 month waiting period for each order. The interior was also changed slightly from the Version 4 including seats and steering. This model was also produced as a 555 limited edition.
