Track day car

Im amazed they let you continue with the bumper hanging off! Great result too. Pic with the bumper off is one for the wall too!! Battle scars! [emoji106]

I never thought it was as bad, couldn't believe they let be continue myself when I got in and seen it[emoji23]
Race 2 will be up later[emoji106]

Was there a big damage to the bumper or you just snapped it back on and it held?

Also, what was going through ur heas when that happened? I mean, I was always wondering, if you get into state of peace in mind with fact that the car might end up totalled. Putting so much work blood and tears into it, and then one accident like that and u can start all over? Isnt it esentially something that keeps you back when racing?

Bumper is not too bad just pity the wing and bonnet got damaged too.In a race I'm not sure what others think, but for me track position is all I think about.I knew there was damage but the car was driving on and temps were good so it was back to business[emoji106]Lots of hard work gone into this car and as much as I love it,the joy I get from it is to race it so I can't worry about it when I'm out there.I know I can fix it when it breaks so max attack mode all the time is the only way[emoji23]

Oh, thats the spirit! Thanks for the answers though:)

Round 7 from Sunday, started on pole with a 1:09.03 in qualifying.Broke the barrier time on the 5th lap which at the end left me in 3rd overall.Bit of a mistake near the end allowed the Seat past while lapping a back marker.Second last lap the clock on the pit lane went to 0.00 so we thought the race was over, but think the penny dropped when I seen Timmy take off again at turn 2[emoji23]But I did enjoy my time up front[emoji106]

What a day out yesterday!
Few war wounds which is very rare for Future Classics, but cars are getting faster and the racing is getting closer which we hope makes for great viewing. Most on track incidents can be avoided but some are just pure luck or lack of luck[emoji20]After breaking the barrier time in qualifying I was at the back of the grid for race one and managed my way to 9th before the race was cut short due to a red flag incident.I had my first pole in race 2 and managed to hold 1st for most of the race until I made a slight mistake lapping a back marker, which allowed the seat past.I did break the barrier in race two but lucky for me so did 7 others which kept me on the podium in 3rd place.
Very well done too all the winners I was genuinely delighted too see William Kellett take the win in race 2.Thanks too all the staff at Mondello especially the Stewerts and all the MicksGarage.com Future Classics crew for another great days racing[emoji106]

Iv a Saxo track car. It's parked up a good while now but thinking of getting it up and running again. It has a lot of work done to it but needs a lot to get going again. It's supercharged with 240 bhp at the wheels and it's destroying gearboxes everytime it goes to the track so that's why it's parked up. Any idea what type gearbox that would fit it and be able for that hardship. If not would ya no were I'd get parts for a vts

240 Bhp mental :clap:even if you get a gear box you'll end up snapping drives shafts I'd sayb

Oh went through a few shafts too. Always kept a few spare cause was a common problem. Gearbox was the biggest problem I had. Why it was parked up. Gearbox would only last half the track day.

Cool[emoji106]that's huge power in a wee Saxo.If your using the standard vts MA box your wasting your time as there only ok for around 170 bhp at best. There is a guy caller Stewart Summers in the Uk with that kinda power in his Super charged Saxo and he is using the BE gearbox. As far as I know there is a BE3 BE4 and BE6 I'm not as well up on the BE box but they have some better ratio options and FD ratios, some lads mix and match Final drives and clusters from one to the other to get the best of both worlds. The conversion is not an easy one with a lot of messing with mounts, shafts and hubs. But this is a must for your kinda power and as Joe said I'd be looking at uprated shafts and Clutch too.
These guys do a good looking kit for the mounts to get the box mounted. But I think finding the correct shafts can be a pain,or I think ATS also do a BE conversion shaft but could be expensive.

I'd love to see some photos of your Saxo or if you have some video also, must be a rocket ship.sounds like you have 90/100 bhp more than I do[emoji16]
