From a guide that I spent the best part of a week putting together for this site...

The Japanese market WRX STi Version IV Imprezas were similar to the previous year's models, however, subtle performance and cosmetic changes were made... Turbo internals were changed to achieve better response and longevity and valve timing was revised so that torque was increased to 260lbft at 4000rpm. Type R and Type RA rear brakes were uprated with two-pot calipers on oversized vented discs. All STi models now had red stitching on the Momo steering wheel and matching gearknob.

The customary V-Limiteds were available again in 1998. All in Sonic Blue Mica, you could get yourself a WRX Type RA STi Version IV V-Limited, a WRX Type R STi Version IV V-Limited or a WRX Type R V-Limited. These V-Limiteds had a helical front lsd, a quick ratio steering rack, bootlid logo, a numbered plaque on the centre console (up to 555), cherry red Subaru emblem, colour coded door handles and power mirrors, automatic air conditioning, electric windows, central locking and special seat monograms.

I guess not many people bother venturing beyond the forum...

Seems to be the case IN GENERAL (not getting at anybody in particular) Paulo. I use 3 other forums on a regular basis and its the same on all of them. Nobody uses search button and the same questions get asked all the time.

Nice car darkshadow!
By the time you factor in the 2000 odd yoyos for stage 1 mods and a remap, Would you be better off buying a ready to roll car here?? Eric's for example??
Worth bairing in mind!
Type R/RA v limited are pretty much the best classic impreza!
Dan

the reason its a v3 is to celebrate the 3 world rally championships the subaru had won from 1995-1997 as far as i can tell and Paulo i know its not an sti

@darkshadow, if you are serious about buying a car your insane not to be looking at erics.

Also if its a 98 why is it a v3?

Im guessing but it could be one of the last Version 3s built in September '97 but not registered until 98.
