2.5 with record mileage

I was chatting a local lad today with a 2.5wrx 2007 that he bought new.
I asked him if he ever had engine trouble and he said that it had a lot of work done recently and blamed it on the stretched petrol that was about. He also said it had "high mileage". I looked in at the odometer. I couldn't believe what I saw.
323000 kms.
The 2.5s mustn't be too bad.

I think the 2.5 gets slagged a bit too much. Remember when I got my 2.0 wrx 2003my, scoobynet was full of chat about how lucky the U.S. Was as you could get a 2.5 there at the time but not in the UK.

2.0litre seem to give trouble too. Was checking warranties and no problem getting cover on a 2.5 sti but Evos and 911s were a no no.

Tut tut tut, driving on with mobile in hand oops

All down to how there driven, maintained and mechanical sympathy

I taught that aswell when I first looked.

I think its the passenger holding there hand up.

WRX never suffered as much as the sti with hg and piston problems .but poor fuel and upped boost on mapped 2.5 motors really seem to be the biggest problems plus lads reving them like a vtec when there is no need to get anywhere near the red line .

Plenty of 2.5s that haven't had problems but you never hear about them .

If you drive anything like an old fart it's gonna last and he looks like an old fart

Looks can be deceiving Johnny know a few lads and to look at them you'd think they were out for a Sunday drive Till they see something fun in there mirror
