Ok guys I am looking to sell my S3. I was planning on selling it a few weeks back as I cant deal with having a 2 door as I have a 4 year old and its a pain getting her in and out of the car. The reason I had to wait till now to sell is the cam tensioner was making a noise on start up and I obviously could not sell the car with this issue. I have had the tensioner replaced with a brand new item and a new chain. So the car is perfect now.
Heres some details on the car:
2001 Audi S3, (Irish car)
99,751 miles with full service history,
NCT till Oct 2011 and the car is tax'd.
Full black leather interior mint,
It has a audi concert radio with bose amp and sub in the boot.
The car is totally standard apart from German plates.
The last service was at 99,400 and it had a new oil filter, oil, air filter and pollen filter and plugs. (All genuine audi parts)
At the same time as this service I had the sump dropped and the oil pick up cleaned as I heard these can block over time. The mechanic told me it wasnt bad at all. I have read on a few audi forums as well about s3's getting noisey cam tensioner's. Most have them replaced and there is no issues after that they can just wear over time and start making noise. The tensioner itself is 400 plus the vat from Audi so who ever buys my car with have the peace of mind of knowing the car has a brand new one fitted.
I am looking for 7,000 ono. I am also open to a swap for a suitable 4 door or I can also put cash with the S3 for the right 4 door.
