what oil best for newage WRX?

ill be servicing my car next week and putting on standart exhaust. what oil would you recomend lads? what thickness do scoobies like most too? Any good place to get online?

you are opening a can of worms man everyone here will have a different opinion. for what its worth heres mine any good oil of the correct grade which for our climate is 5w30 will be grand i have always used either mobil 5w30 fully synthetic or castrol 5w30 fully synthetic and i change it every 3000 miles ,my car has big mileage on it and never an issue so i said any good oil and change it regularly

i needed to know the thickness more then anything 5w30 My friends is mechanic so ill see what oil he has in mind too. from what i have googled so far its a 4w30 fully syntetic.

go to barrys motorsport get urself some millers oil i found it the best out of all oils i used personally i use 10 w 50 in my legacy ,

5 w30 seems a bit light but im no expert

5w30 comes from factory in imprezas. so far everyone recomended 5w30 too. would love to hear more on that.

as i said im no expert on grades but i found millers the best i used 45 euro for 5 litres

Motul 15W50 in mine. Basically because when I drive it, it doesn't get the easiest of times

I think your year impreza came with 10W40 as standard but maybe they've changed their recommendation now

you wont do any harm as such which ever you choose some work better at higher temps some get up too working temp faster just get a good brand and you will be ok

Impreza came with 10w 40 from the factory and every Subaru garage will use that when servicing.

I would stick with that and go for a good brand, eg mobil1, castrol or motul.

Swrt used to use motul but it's very expensive IMO for a road car.

I use 10w 40 for the road car and 15w 50 for the track car

Coming into winter I'd probably put in a 5w30 or 5w40. I'd recommend Millers XF Long Life Fully Synthetic aswell.

This might be little bit too late...

you can use any of 300V range, regardless the viscosity... they are ester based oils

if you want to go for 100% fully synthetic, I will recomend Motul 8100 Eco-nergy 5w30 - subaru recommended

alternative for 5w30 in moderate climate is 10w40(by autodata). so i am using 10w40 Castrol Magnatec
