The Perrin Performance Subaru Impreza WRX

Oregon-based Perrin Performance has built and tuned many Subaru models over the past years. Their latest project is based on the 2008 Impreza WRX and it features a number of improvements that focus on all aspects of performance. Leaving the exterior decals which make your screen look like it burnt a few pixels aside, Perrin Performance has beefed up the Subie’s 2.5-liter unit by replacing the stock turbocharger with an even larger one from Garrett (GT3071R).

Additional improvements include a new exhaust system, modified Perrin fuel injectors and a Hydra engine management unit. According to Perrin Performance, the supped up boxer unit now develops a hefty 385 Hp and and 389.4lb-ft of torque. The tuning firm also upgraded the suspension by swapping the WRX's stock front anti-roll bar and end links, as well as control arm bushings with ones from the Legacy 2.5 GT while the car also features a H&R coilover kit. Finally, Perrin fitted the Impreza with a set of lightweight 17x7.5 Konig Feather alloys wrapped in Yokohama Advan Neova tires.

I think it looks pretty fricken sweet.

that is some machine, just look at the exhaust! i also love the look of the intake manifolds on the new car

i know this is random, but my favourite hoodie is that colour and pattern. i think they should just give me this car so i match!!

Norris you are joking right?

The Manifolds in the new WRX are nasty shiny black plastic (unlike the old WRX and STI) and that exhaust must add at least 2 or 3 feet to the overall length of the exhaust system and is about as straight as a wiseguy's accountant.

Strange how they left the little fact of having a huge front mount IC fitted out of the list of modifications. I'd say to make that kind of power on crappy US fuel there are a few other mods missing from the list.

That colour is gorgeous though. Has anyone come across any of the new WRX saloon's which have been modified. I think they could really look well with some (tastefully) large spoilers and side skirts.

I like it. Very tidy engine bay with not an inch to spare.
That exhaust is sweet. Wouldn't be nice if you went over a large speed bump funny though cos it would scrape id say. :subaru:

i just like the shape, not the fact that its plastic, thats annoying alright, but that Perin one doesnt look plastic

Norris, I know what you mean about the intake not looking plastic. I think it might have been repainted but surely you would paint it the same shade of red/orange as the FMIC pipework if you were going to the trouble of painting it in the first place. Now that would look really sweet

I didn't notice just how low the Perrin exhaust is but looking at it again it's pretty low. Maybe the suspension has been lowered as the new WRX OE set up is very soft and roly poly by all accounts. Also they must surely have upgraded the front two pot brakes to four pots to handle that kind of power.

It must be some rocket to go now and that's on US 93 octane. Imagine what it would do on our E5 and 1/2 bottle of Lucas or NF

It looks like something from grand turismo one where you get pixalation on the car..only an american could tune a car that well and put such a woofull paint job on it
