98 WRX V Limited

Hi all,

As the heading says im looking at a 98 WRX V Limited.Can some one tell me a little more about them.Are they 280 bhp or 300bhp as i have read different stories on them. Also what do you think of the Rear spoiler??? YES or NO?? This car has Anti lag also. Few marks on alloys and the left back quarter panel has a little dent which he said he wud fix but apart from that its clean!! Im trying to sell my 97 wrx in carzone first as he's giving me an awful trade in price!!! :angry: Was thinking either mod my own car a bit or go for the type r??

the normal spoiler put on it and a really nice set of wheels :thumbsup:
 
Spoiler reminds me of the shelving i just put up in my girlfriends house but i suppose its easily changed, and it looks like a nice car
 
Its only a wrx, not an sti. Nowhere near 280bhp on our fuel unless there is alot of work done.

Anti-lag sounds the business but is quite harsh on the turbo afaik, you might start budgeting for a new turbo if you were to buy this.

That spoiler is the spoiler off the S201 & would have to go, its terrible looking.

Thats all I know on it, I'm sure some of the more technical lads will give you more info.

Yeah the anti lag is savage on the turbos alrite. Not that id be changing turbos that often!!
 
Just found this on Paulo's "know your subaru" thread so copied & pasted.

The customary V-Limiteds were available again in 1998. All in Sonic Blue Mica, you could get yourself a WRX Type RA STi Version IV V-Limited, a WRX Type R STi Version IV V-Limited or a WRX Type R V-Limited. These V-Limiteds had a helical front lsd, a quick ratio steering rack, bootlid logo, a numbered plaque on the centre console (up to 555), cherry red Subaru emblem, colour coded door handles and power mirrors, automatic air conditioning, electric windows, central locking and special seat monograms.
 
I dont think thats a wrx..all 2 doors are STi's..I would say that is a wrx sti V4 type r V limited..great price..280 bhp standard from Factory( some say underestimated because of Jap agreement and more like 300)..see what booster hes been running it on if not mapped.

someone on here had one..a V6 2000.. remember him selling it to get a P1
 
Just highlighted my above post to show they did a wrx type r in those years.

Reasons I don't think she's an STi, first of all she's not advertised as same.

No STi logo on rev counter & redline starts at 7500rpm rather than 8k.

No STi logo on v-ltd badge on centre console or on seats.
 
Oh right cool. Ya it doesnt have sti clocks or seats. Also the WRX sticker on the back. The Sti had a different on i think
 
Rite lads just looked up the model number. its GC8E27D which is a WRX Type R Limited

if it has anti lag is has to have an up-rated ecu. does not say which one or who mapped

from the photos that is the fella i bought mine off, alright fella
