Another timing belt question - Ej205 vs EJ201

Trying to order timing belt and I'm not sure i'm looking at the right one. Engine in mine is EJ205 (2003 Forester XT Sg5 2.0) - most part sites are showing compatible belts for mine as being compatible with foresters with the EJ201 engine.

Any idea if those two would take the same belt? One I'm looking at specifically is : Timing Belt Set PowerGrip® K015537XS Gates | Winparts.ie - Timing belt kit (Gates belt on it currently so sticking with the same).

Any help appreciated!

Wouldn’t be going near a gates Belt kit as all the gates pullys are made in China So it’s a huge risk .

Thanks, might have saved me a lot of heartache there! Was only going Gates as that's what's currently on there and has done a fair few miles.. More than it should. Dayco it is then. Ej20s all the same then belt-wise you reckon?

The old gates kits were made in Germany and were very good but the last 2-3 years they outsourced it to China

yes all the Dohc are the same

That makes sense now, was surprised the previous owner would use a cheap Chinese belt considering everything else was always no expense spared. Good to know. Appreciate the advice.

I've a cam pulley holder there if you need it, makes life much easier
