Well lads i have another annoying question for yaz about the type r v limited.. to be honest i am confused now.. :ponder: :ponder:
I went to see what i was told was a 99 typr r vlimited.. and it was 2dr, blue, dif control, had roof hatch but didnt have blue seats or the blue trim on dash and didnt have a plaque stating its number out of 1000 and it had the standard gold subaru rims :ponder: :ponder: :dunno:????
I thought they all had a number?? blue seats and dash trim, rays rims??? the guy told me that it was the lightweight model and that they didnt come with plaque or blue seats... but i thought that the only 2dr coupes to have the roof hatch were vlimiteds????????
Appreciate if some of you can help me with this,
i was wondering do the 99 v5 only come with the standard black and red sti seats and standard dash and wheels?? and was the the console with plaque on it after been taken or swoped into someone elses car in japan or docks,, meaning that it is a proper v limited just without the numbered plaque?? :ponder: :dunno:
Thanks

As it happens I'm putting together a guide for the main part of the site - "Know Your Subaru Impreza" - so here's a section that applies to you:

November 1998 saw the release of the latest V-Limited editions all in Sonic Mica Blue with gold alloys. There were 1000 WRX Type RA STi Version V Limiteds with front helical lsd, a pink six star grille emblem, titanium gear shift knob, serial number plaque, special seats (blue fronts with STi and Subaru logos stitched into the backs, the rear seas were all black), automatic air-conditioning, colour-coded door handles and power mirrors, electric windows and central locking. The WRX Type R STi Version V Limited was much closer to standard with the extras being a roof vent and pink six star grille badge. There was also a WRX Type RA Limited with ABS brakes, multi-reflector foglights, a Version IV rear spoiler, serial plaque, same seats as the Limited Type RA STi version as were the air con, mirrors, windows and central locking.

The Type R was not much different to standard Type R that year, just a roof hatch and pink badge...

The full article will be online soon.

Hi KenC,

Only the Version 6 STI Limited 2 door has blue seats, blue around gear and clocks and the ???/1000 plaque  these are all 00 reg cars no 99 regs can be Ver 6 Limited 2 door.

The standard alloys on Ver 6 Limited 2 door are same alloys as Muckey Scooby has on in his pics.

The Version 5 STI V limited should have Black, Red and Grey seats and no plaque... these can be 98 and 99 registered.

The standard alloys on the V limited Ver 5 are same as all standard 99 classic model alloys in gold :D.

Hope this helps somewhat....

I'm looking into this myself and have looked at both TypeR and typeRA models. The typeR V-limited Specail edition WRC and the TypeRA V-Limited Special edition WRC have the Blue front seats with the WRC logo, they all have a black back seat, Blue dash trim and WRC logo on the Gear Knob, In 99 there where only 1000 of each these made so they'll have there plate No ---- of 1000. In 00 2000 typeRa where made so they have No ---- of 2000 plates. I just made a deal on one today NO 1383 of 2000 My00 TypeRA V-limiteds Special edition WRC's there today. Cann't wait to shift my own now so I can collect Her.

Hope this helps you a bit. P.S there where also Light weight Version of the typeR and RA but they have the normal black and grey seats. :subaru:

The pics above are of a TypeRA Special Edition WRC Those wheels are the Limited edition wheels that came with this model.

These pics show the Body of the Two types The first been the TypeR two door, the Second Been the RA four door, the plate is from the TypeRthis time Notice only a 1000 produced compared to the RA plate above, 2000 made.

Hope this cleared some of your question up. If it ant a special edition WRC it doesn't have the blue Seats ect.....

MY98s Type Rs had a numbered plaque too, but the MY99 Type R didn't.

The whole point of my putting a guide together was to clarify what was and what wasn't available: See here.

The Noin my Posts mines Number not no so if your looking at a V-Limited with WRC logo's on the seats she should have a plate. But there is also a 555 edition which has those seats but no plate but she has no roof vent and is a four door.

There are some Type Rs that are not "tuned by STi". So the first one will not have all the STi-specific mods.
