Need somebody to help me out on sorting a stove for the coming winter.

Stove is in place below my chimney but it sends smoke all over the house and not up the chimney!

Ideally need someone to come look at it and advise me on the correct flu and insulation to stop smoke coming back down into my living room....

Any ideas welcome or a pro to do the job.

Need advice ASAP as the stove is brand new and doing nothing but sitting there

Thanks in advance :)

Around the top of the stove needs to be packed so that the smoke only has one way out, up the chimney, is your chimney clear? No birds nest or anything on top?

Pity you didn't ask when you were buying 1, could've gotten you a serious discount

I'll ask 1 of the lads in work what you need but you'd need to know you're chimney size first. I'd it round and is it 7.5 or 9 inch diameter?

usually stoves have a 6inch flue to be connected to a standard 9 inch flue adapter can be purchased all joints sealed with fire cement or heat resistant silicone have a good look inside the stove to make sure nothing is blocking the flue if all this is correct and fitted properly could be an issue with the stove i have seen this happen to a few stanley stoves

is it defo smoke from fire coming back in?as in smoke of the material you are burning, usually u need to crack the stove with a small fire just to get rid of the oily coating on flue pipe and stove it self..mine was coated with some sort of oil and when lit first the whole house was covered in smoke untill it burned of then worked fire from there on in.

@robbie what sort of money can you get a 15kw boiler stove?that will heat 10 rads and heat water?

Graham ,The room that the stove is in, is there adequate ventilation (air for combustion) for the stove? Any vent blocked by yourself or anyone in the house? That alone could be your problem

Thanks for all the replys

House is brand new as is chimney and stove. Not sure on what size the chimney is?
Robbie do you mean the mouth where the stove sits or up inside the chimney?

I defo need a longer flu and need to insulate above it to stop smoke coming back down.
I also need that sealer stuff too to seal the stove.

Where is the best place to get all the gear I need? Anywhere in dublin?

Thanks again people :)

Any hardware store that sells those stoves will also sell the gear you need to install it.

We only have 13kW (9 rads) or 21kW (12rads). What ratings are the radiators as that will determine which you go for but the 13kW would more than likely be best as the 21 is an animal.

Discount depends on what model you want. Gimme a call and I'll chat to you about it
