anyone replace laptop screens?

Seriously dissapionted with 3 good notebooks i got for myself, girlfriend and daughter. Both mine and my daughters screens have cracked in the same spot. Argos just called to say 120 sterling which is nearly half the price of the laptop. I dont want to give them any more cash!!!
