Aquarium Air Pump

Eheim are usually really reliable(I managed a pet shop for 3 years) I would get in touch with them direct and explain what's happening..how many litres is your tank?

i have 250L.

the air pumps just start making really loud noise and they stop pumping air. i have gone through 3 of them in the last 2 yrs.

Strange..Il ask my mate he's a top Aquarium specialist

OK, he say "Impeller are a serviceable part.. If it's that ? Never heard of anyone complaining about problems with the motor head.. Could be restricting flow.."

Sound right..Eheim are the best out there

all my filters are Eheim - buy everything by them

I opened it up last night. and the bars instead moving side to side to pump the air, its like the hiting the side of the case or something so you keep getting its loud tappin noise.

i will open it again over the weekend and record a video of it. maybe someone knows how to fix it.

His response

"Sounds like the diaphragms are gone, again a serviceable part. Shouldn't be running constantly cos they over heat. When they tear or get a hole, the bar 'pumping' them will over stretch them and hit the casing. Could be that ?"

just ordered them 10 euro and you get two so thats good.

will let you know how i get on!

thanks for the help
