Hi lads, well i went away from the old reliable for a while but now im back in one.. bought a fresh import 99 type r vlimited, completely standard apart from a ttimer :D just the way i like to get em..
during my time away from them i had a hks single turbo supra pushing out around 400 t0 450 at 1 bar, didnt like the lag issue.. was more a third gear get going over 1/2 mile stretch, no end to top speed or power, 275 tyres on rear, smoke em in 4th gear :D :D :smokin: sold it to a young guy with plenty on money and against my advice to take it handy until he get used to its arse happy habits he got 2hours out of it b4 force feeding it a diet of rough grass, briars and some run of the mill ditch :wall: :wall: :wall: :dunno:
I then wnt the no lag way of a bmw e46 m3, kept it for about 3 months and sold her, great car, massive in disguise power, all over mr evo 340 bumper on good back road up north, prob pass it on main road, but just wasnt my thing, had it all do, luks, luxury, pulling power and horse power.. by pulling power i mean bird power  if you know what i mean  :smokin: :smokin:
But any way i am back with the big blue now, looking to start moding it all do i have to say with the low gear ratio is quite impressive in standard kit.
So going to get all usaual bolt ons but my biggest question is what turbo and what intercooler for no lag mental acceleration mapped for my favourite 95 only???? i rally want to keep the rally feel to car..

4th gear burn outs

i like the sound of that an your man that took the supra what a plonker

sure the lad i sold my last WRX paid me the cash and as he was about to drive off asked me, is this a 4wd one

good luck with the new type r anyways...

Glad your back in the Scoob Ken  Id go for an 18g and STI 7 Top mount intercooler.

Hey Ken,
As Renno said, get as big a TMIC as you can
Although any of the lads with the FMIC's are very happy with them :dunno: :dunno:

I have a TD05 16g fitted to my TypeR with TMIC and it's great :D with the low gear ratio
once you get your gear selection right you won't have any prob's with lag

I love my front mount and wouldent go back but I know how fussy Ken is :D and he wont be using the car on the track.

Yea its good to be back in one and im really glad that Damo is so happy, maybe he will show just how chuffed he is when he gives me the bill

The decision of what to go for and how far to go and the money to spend is really a tricky one, its hard to get everything you want in one package and first time around..
I might get all the other bits and leave the vf28 turbo as is at moment, just to see what its like when mapped, there so lowly geared, mayb a bigger blower might make it not as smooth of car to drive in every day real life rounder?? :ponder:
Whats the thought on 17 or 18" wheels???? i was thinking 17", something rally and gold had seen speedline wrc pro wheels about a year ago but i think there gone, everyone is seemingly only selling the speedline torini, what do you think of them lads?
Have to say the gearing is mental in the type R compared to even my last 4dr v6 sti.
When i get her to the way i want her to look, i mite get the whiz kid renno to put a few pics tis time round, and hopefuly meet up wit yas on day out rather than bathering the keyboard to death every 2nd night :computer: :computer: :wall:

Hi Ken. Renno is right Version 7 TMIC with TD 05 16g hybrid turbo. Its good for 375 bhp on the good juice. Needless to say a good Hayward & Scott full exhaust system is a must and a K7N 571 cone filter withthe Sti pink trumpet is also a must. You'll need to fit a Walbro fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator too. That should do it. The shorter gear ratios will suit the bigger turbo and keep the lag to a minimum.

Ps the Speedline Turinis are a nice wheel.
