Hi lads, is the connection faster when the computer is plugged directly into the modem yes ? Is there a limit on the speed that can be transfered between your laptop and wireless modem ? Just wondering if I got faster broadband would it benifit me as im always on the wireles network. Thanks Gary

Wireless, if your router is an 802.11G radio, which it more than likely is, is 54 megabytes per second. A cable is 100 megabytes per second. It can also be 1000 mbps depending on the router.

Though depending on your broadband speed you probably won't notice the difference. I've 50 MB fibre in my house and its quicker wired than wireless.
