Bugeye to Blobeye

Ive picked up a bugeye cheap enough and in need of a full respray.

Its a 02 deep mica blue (the dark navy blue)

Before the gun comes out, Im in two minds whether to do a full blob eye conversion(front &back)

Or get my hands on a bugeye prodrive front end

Whats the opinions on this?

The blobeye front is the obvious parts needed.

And then simply spot weld on blobeye front panel


I dont think that colour was available in blobeye.

So be pretty cool

Or as said prodrive it as bug

I would go with the prodrive front bumper and high rise spoilera and should be perfect.
If you going facelift way why don't you go hawkeye way?

Stick with bug - while having navy blue blob sounds interesting, bugs have their spirit too... I used to not like bugs, then I got one, and since I slammed it to the ground, I love it!

The thing is I usually like to keep my cars in the correct period, if it was an 03, it would get a blobeye conversion. But the fact blobeyes weren't released in 02 Im in too minds.

If I could source a prodrive bumper at reasonable money,that may be the way to go. Id only need black sti lights then.

Also less work than a blobeye conversion

Another look which isn't too bad is the prodrive lip and spotlight covers.

Are these prodrive lips hard to source?

blobeye were introduced in 2002 in Japan. So you wont be far off.

So after browsing the net Im either going for a standard bumper with prodrive lip and spotlight covers

Or a full Prodrive bumper & Grill

H t auto and abwmotorsport in UK are selling replica prodrive bumper if you cant find genuine

abw do the bumper but it's a wrc replica and it's fibreglass with gel coat ready for painting but I'd be wary of a fibreglass bumper
