As above lads a mate of mine cant afford the running of his car (tax & insurance due) and has a buyer lined up to take it off his hands.

The problem is he needs something to get around on still as he has to commute to work daily etc etc

So is there any bikes / scooters he can drive on his current car licence (full irish)

Cheers
Mick

deffo up to 50 cc on a car licence ... so any number of scooters are available to him .....
anything else will require him to do the theory test ,

I dont think you can drive a motorbike on a car licence there is a different catagory for 50cc bike witch is M
unless this part of your licence is dated i dont think you are licenced to drive it, now i could be wrong but afaik
a car insurance policy can cover you on a bike providing you tell your insurance company but you still need the
licence to drive it

Just apply for provisional scooter / Bike license the same as any 16 year old does ? better safe than sorry

This one can be driven on a full car license.
http://www.verdeautos.com/site/1500.htm

Once it's below a certain engine size you can. The bigger bikes on this site would require a dedicated bike license.
My girlfriend got one recently from a crowd in Cork, but I am allowed drive it on my full irish car license.

Taken from the site - "The 2009 VERDE 1500 is now available from only 1,499 euro inc vat OTR !Tax is only 31 Euro for the year ONLY 12 cent for a full charge "

Would make a grand cheap commuter.

Think the old licence covered you on under 50cc bikes.

New one A for bikes up to 125 and A1 FOR BIKES OVER 125.i THINK

Better off just getting provisional licence.Think half the country has them
