Hi lads, can anyone suggest alternatives to AA for a full car inspection. Their "essential check" which is a detailed report on a car is 335e, a tad expensive I think.
And do the AA have the relevant expertise to check over a Scooby?

I got them to do mine before I brought it but it was only ~ €225 :dunno: It put my mind at rest too.
 
in saying that they can't see inside the engine.. As in if you had big end failure a month later there was no way they woulda known..

they look for previous crash damage or anything needing changing as in NCT type thing only way more in depth..

obviously very detailed and give a goods report..
 
AA can't fit me in tomorrow, and I've made arrangements to see a car. None of you boys with good knowledge of Scoobies are knocking around Carlow tomorrow morning? I I wouldn't have a clue what piston slap is supposed to sound like of if the wrong type of clunking sound was being made by the diff. I'd quite happily cover costs & a little bit more for your time.
Just for the record, I was asking about a company in Cork last week, drove all the way to Macroom to find the head was gone on the Scoob, a long trip for nothing!
