She has the standard bidgestone potenza 030 225/45/18" on her!
I found the handling very forgiving! the arse only comes out if it is provoked eg. hard on the throttle out of a bend in 2nd or 3rd and all 4 wheels light up
there was a hairy moment at the back of the track where there is a long fast right hander, were I came in way to hard on the brakes and she stepped out way to much heading for the gravel but I was just very gentle with her till she straighten up abit then floored it in 3rd and she kept sideways most of the way around till i reached a grippy piece of tarmac about 2 thirds the way around the bend! I was doing about 120kph at the time and I didn't intend any of it!
The rest of the time when driving "normally" when she does loose grip she understeers slightly but even with that if i turned more she reacted nicely (and spreached more)
I was'nt timing my self at all I was just having the craic and educating myself about how she'd react in different situations,. I dont know how accurate it is to time from video footage :dunno: but timing from vid footage the skyline's best lap is about 15 sec slower per lap and thats with out drifting
I think I may fit a stiffer rear antiroll bar to try balance it a bit more! I had thought about it before but dicided against because I did'nt want the wife's daily car (and baby's) to be a tail happy beast (understeer is safer) but now I realise you have to be pushing really really hard to loose grip and I dont think wifey drives that hard to often
I've also changed to mintex c-teck 5.1 dot brake fluid to avoid boiling brakes again!
The engine was grand maybe a bit brethless after 6000rpm so I chanced up at about 5700 most of the time!
I love it I really do!! It really surprised me how far you can push and get away with it!! I'm delighted
And thanks for your comments lads I do apreiciate them!
Dan
P.S. @dagnut She's an estate car not a jeep!!
according to insurance :dunno: I think It's something to do with the tail gate opening upwards instead of sideways!! :dunno:
