well finally after 4 and a half years of driving my hawk, its happened.

it true up a code on Friday and its the dreaded stupid air system.

for any of you lads that have had the issues, whats the best way to sort it?

new part or parts?
blanking plates and map, were to get these plates and who can map?

any other way?

That's a balls man. I went with 2 new valves but if I had to do it again I'd get banking plates and get it reset. I think courture auto used to do it. Not sure if there still around. I think scoobymick got his done so he'll tell you. 2 new valves are not cheap.
 
Blanking plates and map are the way foward . Car still runs perfect without them . Couture used to sell the plates but dunno if there still active . Ali or dave would be able to sort out I'd say . Bob Rawle mapping up north regularly now . He'd be my mapper of choice

not sure if ciaran did it for him
are they only in the hawks ??
 
keith: all subarus 2006 onwards have them..

its real pain, I still havent sorted mine...
 
Don't need blanking plates
If you go the electronic solution
Rather than mechanic solution
These codes get disabled
P0410 to P0418
P1410 to P1418
P2432 to P2444
And pull the 2 fuses/relays and job done

if you going to remove the system, can I have it for 'testing and learning' purposes?

ya no problem, I will be removing it and blanking off, don't know if it will be this month or next but ill let you know when I have it out

I just got it mapped out. Left kit in place and have had no issues. Nct done since then and no problem with emissions.

I bought a rcm blank kit if you decide to remove the kit. If interested let us know :thumbsup:
 
I'll be leaving mine in to and just getting faults cleared
Won't do anything anyway with the fuses pulled
Just disable the fault codes

@ Johnny c&r organised mine. Got some lad in to do it but by sounds of it they do it quite a bit.


The blank kit I have is the one Dec just posted :thumbsup:
