Company Medicals ????? update , got the job

Anyone know what is common practice on pre-employement medicals ?

Basically i have a medical for a dam good job in a pharmaceutical plant local to myself here in wicklow , out of 900+ applicants ive made it to the final 4 people and there is 4 jobs so hopefully as long as i pass the medical the job should be mine :pray:

if anyone knows whats included in a medical post it up as ive never done one :dontknow: I hate not knowing what i'm facing tomoro so any ideas post em up :thumbsup:

yes it s a blood/urine test will tell if u have prpblems had 1 recently in my job,it also tests for banned drugs etc

Dont fail the drug test.5 applied for a job as lab techs.Company nurse said 3 failed.
skin allergies are a no no eg. eczema,dermatitis.
asthma is also not good.arthritus is out also.
All old injuries are relevent and can lead to dismissal if not revealed.Dont hang yourself though and say you have a dodgy hip.Say you broke your leg and its grand now.Bad backs are bad so best say nowt as cant be proven so long as you can touch your toes.Good luck man :thumbsup:

Are you sure they test for illegal drugs? I don't know if they are allowed to do that.

Are you sure they test for illegal drugs? I don't know if they are allowed to do that.

As long as you agree to supply it... they can do what they want with it. They never admit to testing for illegal drugs... but they do... and it obviously affects their decision.

cant possibly fail drug test anyway , skin allergies are not a problem , no old injuries and somehow i havent ever damaged my back , touch wood , :whistle: , no asthma or artritus either so no worries on that end of things ,


i dont mind what they test for as long as i get the job , been going on 4 months with the application process

They have a quick test kit and did the test in front of me after taking the p!55.

Probably a hearing and eyesight test as well and a lung capacity test - I did one of these and the result was brutal due to my asthma, but made no difference to passing the medical
