was just looking a Impreza prices in England. I seen a new sti on Pistonheads for I think it was 25k or there abouts which is 33-34k odd euro then checked the vrt page which don't have a 2008 hatchback but I put in a 2008 saloon version reg for January 08 and the vrt was €16738, so this then with the change of sterling to euro would stand a 08 one imported to here at give or take 49-50k euros.. Am I missing something here :dunno: cause there 65-67k here to buy

Don't think you're missing anything mate, the euro is strong at the moment and gettig better by the week, plus its the rip off republic so you can be sure we pay extra for everything over here.

You should buy it and try sell to a dealer over here and maybe scam a few quid out of them!!

And if they won't buy it for say 60k, we'll all know they get them cheaper than that and are just trying to make a huge mark up!

you said the vrt was on a saloon version sure you might as well put in a hyundai that wont be the vrt..as it stands its 30% of market value which is €19785...still save nearly 10k but

Litchfield are selling there Type20 sti for £30K so what ever the vrt is on a new my08 sti is on top of that is still a damn site less than €65k  and that's the dog's boIIix sti

If you buy a new car in the uk below 5000 miles you also have to pay VAT @ 21% plus VRT :hang:

No VAT on secondhand cars from the uk

There are lads that can "recalibrate" a digital dash to read whatever milage you wont!
I got a few confused looking faces when I was looking to get a few mile PUT ON to my forester when I was bringing her in with less than 3000 km on her! but then I realised that I had to pay vat anyway because she's coming from out side of the EU!
Surely litchfield have to pay the same EU vat, So They might be able to import the car, modify it and then ship it straight to ireland unregistered! so Only 1 vat payment!
