Cowan gone

To do a job you were not voted into after Bertie did a burner he has got to much stick. :naughty:

Bertie is the one to blame for all this sh1t not him.

It doesnt matter who comes in we are all still going to have the same problems at the end of the day. :dontknow:

He was finance minister when Bertie was in charge so bears every bit as much blame as the Bertie fella if not more considering what he's done since he took hold on the neck if the nation and strangled it.

Finna fail are a bunch of lying Bastards and are still not tellin the Irish people everything. I'd say the vote of confidence in Cowan by the lying party was an agreement with the fat ba*tard to allow him to step down on his own terms. Keeping his head held high as he leaves with a great pension and all the benefits that go along with it. He should walk for ever with his head down looking at the mess his made. :angry1:

gone but not gone till 11th he will prob retire before election to get active tds pension
its up to the people of ireland now anybody calling to your door should be given a good grilling
on what they are going to do about the mess if fg and labour take over they better implement change fast
or they will be on the scrapheap too

How does someone step down as the leader of his party yet still have the confidence in himself to remain Taoiseach?

Hello Lads,

As I can say is, it's about time

The current government has created so much instability as of late

The general election cannot come quick enough

They should vote the finance bill in & move the general election forward as much as possible

Apart from the turmoil they are creating in Ireland, they are making Ireland and our population a laughing stock among other countries :wall:

How do they think we can get foreign investment & adequate finance resources with all this carry on :cuckoo:

Cheers,

Michael

So he is good enough to run the country but feels he isn't good enough to run his party?
What a jackass , he was minister for finance before he took over ,had he done that job proparly he would have know the mess of the country at the time of his take over from bertie.
Why was all the voting etc going on last week in his confidence ,when he has no confidence in him self ?
Problem now is who ever gets in in the next election they will blame him and his party for everything ,I do also, but we have to move forward , jail people who have done wrong ,make thiefs pay back what they stole, get people with experience to run departments who can ,and be held accountable for their actions, eg surley minister of defence should have previous expenice in that role maybe in armed forces, army ,navy not someone who get the job because the job needs doing.
They must understand you can nt be leader / minister of a area with out experience , what company would give somebody a job who had no experience in that field ,pay a massive salary ,give a company driven car, huge pention,a most of all a unaccountable expense account?

He said he made decisions based on advice he was given and i might be prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt on that, just maybe, but to decide then that we should pay back this massive debt we find ourselves in instead of defaulting, I just can't forgive that. how dare he decide that we should pay so dearly for the mistakes of others.

In fairness, defaulting on this loan will screw this country for decades to come.

I know it would, Andy, but at least that way, we could start from the ground up with a bit of hope. The way we are now, we're still having to start from scratch but we've a massive loan to pay as well.
I suppose it's a bit like damed if you do and damned if you don't.

most of the economists said we would be better off defaulting
some of them reckon we wont be able to pay it back and have to default anyway
