Ok need some help please. About half a pint of milk was spilt on the passenger side of my car and now the car is rank :puke:. Whats the best way to sort this problem without taking out the carpet :angry1:
Thanks in advance

Few tricks I've heard for this, one is baking soda leave it on the stain for a few days then hoover it off its absorbent so its should soak up some of it.

Baking soda like dagnut says or you can spray some white distilled vinegar on the area, leave for a few hours and blot it dry... The smell of vinegar will go once it has completely dried...

If the smell persists, then you will need to anti-bacterial odour eliminator to kill off any remaining bacteria which would be causing the smell..

Happened to me years ago when i had a caddy van , never got rid of the smell totally but the baking soda shifted the most of it

white vinegar (distiled), baking soda and half an onion!!!!
onion will soak up the smell and baking soda will help too....
once completely dry you should be left without a smell

Had the same problem before. Was told at the time to do as the lads above have been saying and also to put a bowl of salt in the car over night to help get rid of the smell. Can't say whether the salt works or not for definate but there was no smell afterwards.

if you get some real charcoal and and put it under the passenger seat the carbon will lift the odor. saw this on how clean is your home!!! works well on smelly fridges to!

@ silverbullet, it didnt work :icon_hang:

anyway the baking soda did the job for me, tried the vinegar first on a hot day  not a good result
good as new now.
