thats a bad idea changing numbers to letters on your reg plate :D

agree with norris, i got pulled on mapping day and got nothing but grief just for having the word SUBARU on the black line

if you put a space between the other numbers and then 571 it wont be to bad, but changing them to letters is actually changing the reg altogether, verrry illegal

its a shambles alright

was said before , if its not 100% legal , its 100% illegal :dunno:

My father made up a reg plate one time( he's a sign manafacturer) for a scooby using 571, it was going on display somewhere first and was then sold on. think it was for when a new sti was launched or something. if i remember rightly, it was for a shindig that was in browns barn onetime. as the lads were saying you cant put a gap between the numbers, the plate im talkin about was something like 05 d 571 or something with no numbers before it.

Eddie Garry had a 03 W 571 plate which had the 571 changed so they looked half way between numbers and letter. It looked excellent and as the writing was half way between numbers and letters he never had a problem with it.

The first time I saw it I thought it was STI but when I looked closer you could easily agree that it was 571. Not sure who did it for him but it was an excellent piece of work.

PS I have heard the guards are seriously cracking down on illegal number plates now in conjunction with their campaign against people driving uk NI reged cars in the Republic (Sorry Niall not Cork!) :worship:

This is exactly what I'm looking for!! half way between 571 and STI
and every thing else about the car is 100%legal so I dont mind being pulled!
If any one here is a bit "arty farty" could you help me mock up something along those lines for 06 D 84571
Thanks for your input and adivise lads
As soon as I get it sorted I'll post up a pic or two,
I'm nearly happy with car now, just 1 or 2 things to get sorted (get rid of the silencer box on the induction system, slightly softer front springs and reg plates) ok that's 3 things, and then I'll be happy!!! :D (for a while anyway)
Thanks again lads
Dan

The silencer box in the induction system is actually a plastic box which catches water if you run into a flood! It is not a silencer as such. I replaced mine with the GP Moto intake elbow. The induction noise wasn't really any louder so don't expect a nice induction kit intake sound :?

On the plus side Andy Forrest said it made a noticeable difference to air intake volume and he had to adjust the fuelling to match so it has been proven to work and is not a gimmick. At around $50.00 for the GP Moto intake elbow its a great value mod especially as it's a fraction of the cost of an induction kit AND it really works
