lads there might be a chance off myself pulling out off the motorsport show the weekend. :doh:

my drivers side cv joint has gone in the past few days and obviously wont have it done by saturday unless god does it over night for me. :pray:

would it be ok to still drive with it clicking and crunching. :dunno:

have been looking forward to this since it went up and have even booked from today till tuesday off work for it months ago. :wall:

have said it to the lads on c and r and they said yeah will be fine but want second opinion :thumbsup:
 
If she is clicking and making serious noise whilst your driving in a straight line....dont bother mate,cv joints can be very dangerous if they come out...rather be safe than sorry mate.... :thumbsup:

keithdublin - really wanted to bring my car along to this.

might be getting a second hand one tomorrow so hopefully its early and i can go about getting someone hopefully to fit it
 
best advice is leave the car home lad.....
if it breaks on the road..it could end up costing you more.
its a performance car and any acceleration could coz it to collapse...

tried c and r it will be wednesday by the time it is in and is costing 360euro off them.

going to fish around for a second hand one because dont have that money to spend on that at the moment.

Well keith if u still want to head down without the car i can give u lift. Im up in balbriggan so i think ur only around the corner?
 
The drive shaft is seperate,if you look at you cv/drive shaft you will actually see the shaft running into your gearbox,and the other side into you cv...so id say that is the correct part... :thumbsup:
 
yeah the rubber part has split on it.

think that is the outer one but i dont know really.

will go have a look

give artane autos a ring,8316455. ive gotten stuff like that for other cars before, they might need to know how many spines are on the end of the joint.
 
when the boot splits..the grease will leak out and dry up the joint which causes the clicking...
that ebay joint sounds very cheap though
o.e parts are better than spurious parts especially with cv joints IMO

as for second hand lad....forget it coz it may be in no better condition than the one your replacing
 
collecting a new cv today at half four. :dance:

hopefully its the right one regarding the amount off splines. :pray:

if i am to go to the show tomorrow i will be heading down later on tomorrow evening by the looks off it. :doh:

just hope it is the right one if not wont be attending at all. :pray:
