A lad I know is after buying a 1940s Austin 10.
Old vintage thing, are the likes of autoglym shampoos etc OK on these?
I've no idea about the paint on em etc and whether or not those kind of products are safe to use

Knowing British rot boxes it probably has wood somewhere in it so wood worm will probably take care of it well before you can use any products 😂😂

🤣🤣🤣 no to be fair, it looks fairly fresh now. But only seen it when passing the house, he rang a while ago asking what's a good pre wash, I told him citrus or polar blast, then I realised he's using it on that...?

I've actually seen a post or two on detailing world about that, but they were talking cars from 1920s or something. Much older anyway, couldn't find much information on 40s

What year was the car painted maybe it has modern paint
A car like that isn't going to need detergents so go light on it

Good point actually. Probably not original paint...but would it be painted now with water based paint is the thing...and if not, is it the same washing technique..
I have never heard of products damaging those era cars...but I've never really had to check either
