Dublin Car Dealers?

Im hoping to head to dublin on fri for a day or two!while im up there im gonna have a look at trading in the RX for a B4 Legacy!

Im just looking for some feed back and yer thoughts of some of the car dealers around dublin!

One place that interests me very much is Redwood Motors (www.redwoodmotors.ie) He has a few leggy's im interested in!Has anyone dealt with these guys before??i know at this stage to stay clear of Jap Cars Dublin!but are these the same crowd as Jap Extreme Cars?

Who else should i stay clear of?Who would ye recommend?

dave i bought my classic from redwood i know the lads up there very well all from my area. gary and the lads up there are grand and my car is fine.
 
its only my opinion and dont wish to offend anyone.....but i have seen a car that was sold by redwood to a customer and was independetly checked over by a big agency here in ireland and it was a fookin death-trap.....owner of redwood was or still is embroiled in court action against him for the sale of this particular car........those facts are 100%.
dont say you havent been warned!!!!!!
 
Agree with marko, no offence intended here also.

But I looked at a car up there for the missus, was told over the phone it was a minter, but it was in sh!te when I got there.

In saying that if they had another car I was looking for I'd certainly stop by to take a look, but moral of the story nowadays is ALWAYS get a car checked over by qualified mechanic/engineer etc.
 
Haven't dealt with redwood myself but from hearing from what other people are saying they don't sound on the level :dunno: bought my first leggy off southside automotive and never had a problem with it. But no matter what garage you mention someone has had or knows someone who has had a bad experience with the garage, just travel around and have a butchers and bring someone who knows their stuff bout leggys,that way you'll avoide a lemon and get yourself a minter :thumbsup:
 
jap cars have the best selection when it comes to subaru etc, and s&b motors have a nice one one its 00 legacy b4 2 litre white 87,000kms twin turbo price 11,750 euro nice man to speak to and deal with :subaru:

agree with ye totally mate
you got a good legacy off southside ...but on the other hand my brother-in-law bought one off them and had endless gearbox and diff problems....
we all just speak on our own experience

Very true,we've all had different experiences but as long as we share them and the same names pop up we know who to avoid :thumbsup:

never a truer word spoken. Good and bad stories are going to be floating about for all garages. Its up to you to go with what you feel is right.
 
bought my yok of 'chief' up in jap cars , good car , right price , so i was happy
but mate had trouble with him on a diff car

so all in all good and bad from my experience :dunno:
 
Bought my car in Jap Cars. Brought a panel beater with me to check it over. I think all the jap importers can be dodgey but if u take the precautions u'll be grand.
 
went up to jap cars to have a look at a b4 but couldnt test drive any of them cause they were missing parts that had been put onto a car he just sold. went to s&b and bought my car there and havent had any bother with it.he has some nice b4's up there at the moment...was in on saturday to have a butchers.

remember seen an add in the auto trader with sti's down as 1.6's on log books

would you trust em ?
 
the place in man o war is northside automotive.....think he used to be sean byrne motors from coolock.......s&b are in lusk. its run by a lad called beau butterly. there just off the second roundabout on the lusk/skerries bypass.
 
know the guy on skerries road....dropped a few breakdowns to him in the past
dont think i'd trust that jap import place in man-o-war..imo
