How's it going lads,

Just seeing if any of you know about this happening or if it's happened to you!

I was bidding on a full set of qriginal prodrive mudflaps for the car. these where still in their box and for MY01-MY06 model.

As their over £300 to buy a set from a dealer I decided I'd go as far as £200 for them on e-bay.

It had been 2 days on e-bay with the price starting at £50 when I placed my first bid. Each time I was out bid the name that bid againat me was unseen and down as a member that just joined.

As I said I went right to the £200 mark and was final out bid so I gave up.

I receave a message the next day telling me that he'd pay for the post for the item so I went and had a look at the item on e-bay again and found that it was back down to my last highest bid figure but that I was not winning as I had not excepted the bid this time. I didn't bother any further as I have a felling that the bid was been pushed up by the seller using another account. When he realised that I had stopped at €200 and that he had gone past me I think he pulled his bid and offered it back to me!

It has since been removed from e-bay without selling. :angry:

Any of you come accross anything like this before?

sure that happening alot on ebay coz most of time you dont get to know who your biddin against....

ebay is a joke, half the people buying crap on it actually think they are getting a deal. Turns out you can buy some things cheaper in the shop, and you have somewhere to bring it back too if there is a prob.
You can be lucky though :thumbsup:
 
yeah i've noticed things like that before me and my brother have bout about seven mini coppers off e-bay over the last 2 years but we make sure to do all our homework before we buy 1 we've often bein biddin on then and at the last min somethin will happen but with the 1's we have bought we've been the sellers have been really decent ppl a few have even collected us 4rm the airport and brought us to there house then to do the deal and then we have the fun off rockin all the way to the ferry to get home does be a good day out theres no better laugh than 2 men in an old mini flat to the mat and it screamin for a 5th gear :D
 
i have bought nearly over 100 things on ebay and had only a problem with one thing which was a dvd headunit and i got my money back eventually.

bought a good bit for my 106 on it and a few for the scoob and all good.

the best thing to eric is not bid on it until the last min and stick in a bid and then the highest your willing to pay because there is a lot off people doing that on ebay as another name and just getting the money they want for the item.

i think patience is the key and iff it takes you 2 or three times on the item being relisted its well worth it.

dont get pulled into a bidding war with anyone when there are plenty off other things the same iff you have the patince to search more in there shops.
 
I've bought a few thing from e-bay and all so far have been good, I'll have to wait so until nearer the end of the Bidding in future so.
 
Have seen this quite a bit on ebay... but its like everything else... some people are always trying to screw you... I wouldnt say ebay is a joke, there are plenty of good traders with quality prices if you look hard enough

Happens all the time. I have bought over 100 items on ebay and I see it every now and then. You can report irregular bidding to eBay and they will investigate. For the most part there are good honest traders on the site.

same here - no major problems with the stuff i've bought - it like anything you have to be careful and check the sellers sales histroy and ratings
