Hey folks, my GC8 is tuned to pump petrol and E85 (before it arrived to Ireland)

E85 was available at petrol stations back in Vancouver, but it seems basically nonexistent here.. anyone know of places in the south east to get E85, or am I stuck with ordering online.

it's not available on pump here anyway, maybe in the north or uk but not 100% sure 🤔

it'll be easiest to order online I'd imagine, but should be able to get it relatively easy by the drum.
Group D might be able to get it in and down south, if you didn't want it shipped and were close to collect it.

I see Sunoco fuels advertised around the place a fair bit.

Talk to AP Performance , he has mapped most of our scoobies , he will best advise the best route for you.

He supplies, fits and maps aftermarket options for all subarus, link ecu etc👍

Thanks for the recommendation! I do have a Link ECU - and need it tuned for Irish pump ... I was going to head toward TDP in Wicklow, shorter distance, but I haven't heard any word of mouth feedback about them.

I have used robbie @tdp once on my old blobeye sti and.he is fine, never had any issues with his map but AP is in a different league imo hence why he has done all.my subsequent cars, you will have to wait 2 plus months for a date with AP which speaks volume about his reputation etc, he really knows subarus, check-out his insta for an idea of what sort of machinery he maps daily, best of luck with whatever you decide 👍

As mentioned, E85 is not available in the Republic and you could potentially buy it from the likes of Murrays Motorsport but it will become an issue if you run out while driving.

My advice would be to get on to AP Performance (Aounghus) via email and get the car mapped to 95Ron that we have here. It will lose a bit of the power you made with E85 but at the very least, you can just pull into a petrol station and fill with 95Ron anywhere. Fuel quality in Ireland is very poor and this really affects our Subarus. It's only recently that we got E10 petrol and this has helped a tiny tiny bit. Along with all that Aounghus is a Link Ecu dealer and is one of the best mappers in Europe (I don't say this lightly given how much time he spent over the years working on my car).

Another leftfield option if you want to go down this route (which is what I did as I was chasing more power), is to think about direct port water methanol injection as the Link ecu can control all this. It will require a kit and a fair bit of work to get it all set up and dialed but it would be as potent/if not more potent than E85. To put it into perspective, on a stock block EJ207 my car made 466bhp at the crank with direct port water meth at 80% and still running a top mount intercooler. If you need more information, my build thread is in the forums here with all the details.

Shout if you need more information as I been through the fueling permutations over the years and it's a real shame we don't have E85/98Ron fuel here.

Was in Paris recently and see small filling station had 98 and E85. My partner couldn't figure out why I was so excited about this. I even took a picture of it 🤣
