Magic

Middle Lane Hogs
not only i failed my driving test after ONLY six months waiting.. and today I got letter from bank sayin that if i'm not pernament then i won't get a motor loan.
well.. i'm not pernament cause my hundred millions worth company won't give any contracts. Did I mention that i also got really bad infection and can't get outta bed and the weather's awesome? ;P
fantastic week.
enough whining

folks
i need advice on financial institutions that will be happy to give me few grands for a new set of wheels :)
I'm going to switch my bank account to something else (**** them) after being loyal with clear credit history (previous loan paid in full on time), regular income - thats dissapointing.
Recommendations on new bank are welcome (btw I'm with boi) :)
Heard that Credit Union is quite good for motor loans - but it takes at at least 6 months before I'd be able to get a loan from them.

yes i know i would have to wait.
What about credit companies that cooperate with car dealers, are they also so restrictive ?

OK...... BOI are the biggest bunch of muppetts
going always have been.

AIB, personally i find them great young staff, so they can give you
answers in a way we can understand them .....no bullshit .

Credit Union's are the best, but the loan will cost you more ie. higher % rates etc.
It's 13 weeks with a credit Union before getting loan or i should say it is with mine.

You could try GE. Capital they give money to anyone for anything .

Niall.

I tried already some time ago at AIB with poor results. Maybe now it would be different.

will check all of them and see what happens.

thx for advice

I moved from South Africa to Ireland in August last year - with all my proof of past accounts, credit history in SA, the ONLY place willing to lend me money was BOI. I tried AIB, Permanent TSB, GE Money, Halifax, etc - no one wanted to know anything. Kinda like my 14 yrs driving, 8 of last years being claim free (Although 2 claims in 14yrs was paid for by 3rd party), the only place to want to give me insurance on the car was AXA - great bunch really.

Good luck.

keep trying AIB they work in mysterious ways...i kept appling for a loan..they kept turinning me down..then when i chanced my arm with doubloe the amount i got it..plus i had a 2k overdraft at the time that i didnt have previuosly..the lenders are all on performance bonus's so you could catch one who needs to make the figures decides your not a risk and gives it to you..once you get one loan with them they wil throw what ever you want your way

It's same with insurance - one big lottery! one will give the other one won't... and it's the same with girls

anyway something what I found out lately was a really good piece of advice: "Shop around". I will switch account sooner or later cause i need now more advanced internet account then they offer in boi.

CamoMo: I didn't even bother bringing any papers with me. I knew that it would't work especially in the bank. And I'm working on my no claim here in Ireland :)

Dagnut: yes, it crossed my mind to be annoying evil and make one application after another in the same bank. I was always afraid that bank might think that I'm to eager to get their money and I won't get them at all. It looks like I will have to try that anyway :)

and I gonna send a complain to see what they have to say :D
