Thats not completely true...
How it works is...
When you delete a file small or big yes its moved to an unused sector on your hard drive, but it will only stay there for so long. As when you download or install and save new files they are put on unused sectors, so over days, weeks, months more and more of our deleted files will be gone pretty much.
In extreme cases segments can be recovered but its just data, unknow data. the more and more segements they get back they get an indication to what the file was.. but thats FBI / crime lad kinda stuff LOL
Another thing to point out is.. that these days HDD as so big we never use all the space so recovery rate is about 70-80% which is very very high..
so remember next time your doing something you shouldnt be LOL
