Ford show mullingar

Did anybody get over to this, I went over for a look for a half hour and even though I hate the sight of a ford, There was some very impressive cars on display including escort Cosworths which were unreal clean, All the parts on the car were clearner than the new cars in the showrooms. It was a great display for any ford fan.

Do Subaru ever have anything like this ?
 
I was at this, its on each year at the same time of the year, previously it was out at the Bloomfield hotel, much better location, more of an atmosphere, as you'd get people at the hotel coming over for a nosy. The location this year was at the new Ford Garage in the Industrial estate, very dead and sterile, - well thats my opinion.
 
Its all well & good having an immaculately clean Escort Cosworth that has cost ya millions to restore to beyond factory quality - but when was the last time ya saw any of these driving on the roads?

Don't get me wrong, I love cars & try to keep the scooby as clean as possible, but its a car to drive first & foremost, its not for hiding in a shed & only taking out for a show.
 
Well said Brian, They have spent so much money on them just to sit in the shed or car show and then be brought round in a trailer.
I would deff bring them out even if it was only the sunday car.

It was deff a crap location, nice showroom but too far off the road for the normal person to see there was anything going on!
 
Seen 2 Sierra Cossies an escort cosworth and two MK11 escorts in Mayo yesterday. Most of been going over to it :)
 
The Red and Blue Escort Cosworths there, are used on the road and the track, though a lot of the show crowd don't drive them which is a crying shame. The Red Escort that won the "best car at show is used on road and track, and no mercy shown to it either.

Dave571 was there in his new Focus ST. I meet up with him afterwords and he was saying that it was good alright.

His new car is beautiful and a nice car to drive.
 
Love the cossies, have a look at a fast ford mag sometime and you'll see wat clean really is :eek:mg:

Saw a 450hp anti-lagged escort in it before, they had it up on a ramp for some of the shoot ad the underside was cleaner than I ever seen body on a normal raod car, some of the UK lads really have a serious horn for these things :lol:

Fast Ford is also one of the best mags I've read, no horse sh1t about ICE and stupid body kits, just all about engineering and making your stock looking motor go like feck!!

They're still no Scooby though :subaru:
 
White Escort Cossie around cork the whole time and it immaculate :clap: all tho he does run a valeting company :)

THATS MAD GREAT MINDS MATE. ME MATE WITH THE COSSIE RS 500 WAS ON TO FORD TOLD THEM TO MAKE IT 4WD THAY SAID THEYLL THINK ABOUT IT AH WELL THEIR LOSS :dance: :subaru:
 
Fords problem with making a 4wd is they bdon't have an existing platform to work with..Ford as a whole are losing money and you have to justify these things to the suits to get it through..they where looking at the 4wd platfrom from volvo but it didnt pan out due to weight, the extra toruqe and power needed and emissions etc...they know they are years behind Subaru and Mitisbiushi it would cost the 100's of millions to catch up for a small market share..the new rs is on the way with 270 bhp through the front wheels and a fancy diff..so that kind of puts the 4wd ford too bed
