Forester Turbos.. Good/Bad and how do they drive?

Might possibly lean towards a late first gen Forester S Turbo as my next purchase. Always thought the Foresters were pretty cool have a lot going for them too in terms of practicality. Naturally won't drive like a WRX or a B4 but how do they stack up? No experience with them and I haven't driven one either so Id be interested in a few opinions. Also what are good things to add to them in terms of mods?

Fantastic car just about do and go anywhere in it
Kids, dogs pack them all in great performance but same fuel costs as wrx or b4
Nice one just sold on here with sti bits on it
I love them I'm trying to convince her indoors into one but no joy at the minute

thats what i like to hear! no kids yet to pack in though (thankfully) but love having the space all the same

easy enough to get parts too basically just anything that'll fit classic wrx for modding etc??

any good suspension options for em?

thinking put in WRX or STI seats too

wont be daily car also unless I feel like taking it out so fuel costs wont impact too much!

I purchased a 05 forester xt before xmas.. its the 2.5 model... nice extras including the leather seats..lowered it on bc coilovers..forester sti rear lights. I will be using it regular enough so was looking into converting it to lpg..

I've had mine a few weeks now and I'm loving it, it's a 04 Irish xt but mine isn't standard sti engine, vf28 turbo, decat, tgv deletes and remapped to 305bhp, interior and rear lights from a 07 foz sti and suspension from an impreza wagon, it's big and it's comfy I would do a lot of driving and I've two young kids as well and it fits the four of us with a load of stuff with tonnes of room to spare, I haven't driven a standard xt but my one gets down the road very well and the pickup when you put the shoe down is unreal, braking you can tell there is some weight behind it put the brakes are good.

I drive a 2000 s turbo forester as my daily, one of the nicest cars I've owned, has Classic Wrx running gear which makes it handle really good, brakes could do with 4 pots etc but 2 pots do the job, mine is auto, not the choice of many but really runs nice with it, has power button with let's it shift higher in the rev range etc, the do suffer with auto issues though so if u go that way be careful it's not lazy shifting in drive, other than that it's amazing, loads of room, have Wrx seats in it too so it's pretty snug! If u get a good one you will love it!
