now jus to download speed camera locations , which include gatso(stationary) and mobile camera's ,
anyone who doesnt have one , try one out . dunno how i travelled before without one ( gf in pssenger seat with up-side -down map) no offence ladies
any one else hav it , wat do u make of it good/bad , or are they're any tricks or tips i should know about .

well thats my story and im stickin to it !!!

Yeah, I've got one also, the Nuvi 610 and don't know how I survived without it in the past either.
Have you got the camera updates yet? If not get on over to http://www.irishspeedtraps.com/ and buy yourself a subscription - it's only €35 for a year's worth of updates (and they update very frequently) - well worth it, considering the options!!

You can have a bit of craic with the icons for the car on the screen also, there's loads of customised ones to download at the Garmin website.
Don't think much of the bluetooth feature in the unit though, doesn't work that well IMO...

By the way, don't be fooled to think that the mapping for Europe is as comprehensive as the Ireland / UK mapping, it's not! ... tried mine in Spain recently and while the unit recognised it was in Spain and seemed to recognise major towns & cities, the mapping was sh1te and not useable at all.

have fun, you'll never get lost again!

Bought the old man a Garmin 200 Nuvi last year. I use it more than him. Its great and full of features.

One particular one that I like the the 'Fuel' feature. Press it and it locates the nearest petrol stations. Scan through them and i'm brought directly to the nearest maxol. An important feature for Subaru owners! :subaru:

Also was over in the UK recently and used it. It picked up all speed cameras over there automatically. Don't know how because it had never been updated or anything :ponder: Not that I was too bothered about them anyway

mac mac did that sat nav of yours bring ya in by the grand canal about 1.45pm today - thought I saw you in your motor?

Mistaken identity then, it was another 02 bugeye with isdc stickers, I recognised the car but just can't recall who owns it :ponder:

Have the same one as yourself Mac Mac! Great job! :worship:

Except that day after Scoobfest! Wanted quickest way home and instead of getting me to the motorway, it brought me along a load of back roads and through a lot of villages with union jacks on each pole!

Ive a Garmen and a tomtom, they are both great but sometimes when ur down the country and select fastest route home it will take u down some crazy ass back roads with 100 kph speed limits. Not great when ur in the truck or the transit.

@mark , did the same myself , wasnt sure where it was takin me . if i remember right it got very windy and up & down just before it brought you out on main rd , also it probobly brought u by nuts corner and what looked like banger racin on the opp side of the road.
but yeah , can bring u some crazy ass routes, but i still luv it !!

gr8 good would have been in trouble a few times if i hadent of had especially when drivin through england in an old mini cooper :D

excuse the ignorance but wat are the benifets of the higher spec models . wat can they do that myne cant???

Hi Guys,

One of the main reasons I have bought a Subaru is because of The Garmin NUVI 300.
Part of my job is driving around Cavan/Monaghan country lanes. Most of the time the Sat nav sends me on the tiniest unmapped 1 track lanes.

Needless to say four wheel drive Subaru is much safer/more fun than front wheel drive Toyota. Nuff said. :headbanger:
