GC8 Help

Hey all.
Although new, I’m sure I’m getting annoying with the amount of questions I have, so sorry about that ☺️.
I was wondering if anyone could help me with some questions about bits and pieces I need.

For example, the bulbs are gone out in the temp and fuel gage in the cluster, and I want to just replace them all, with a similar bulb.
So I have no idea what I’m doing, but I’ll give it a go, I just have no idea what ones I should get? I’m just looking bog standard, but I suppose I should replace them all just so as to not have them at all different levels of brightness. Hopefully it’s something that I can just buy cheap in Halfords like, I just don’t want to go and take out the instrument panel without being able to replace them. It’d be nice to not have to have the torch in the car to check if I’ve enough petrol to get home or not 😂.

So yeah, hopefully one of you could point us in the right direction as I’m fairly wet behind the ears.
And hopefully this is posted in the right thread and I’m not annoying anyone.
☺️
Thanks,
Robbie

Hi Robbie, I did this job on my gf8 many years ago. From memory as u look at the instrument cluster up above it and under the part of the dash that comes out to meet the top of the steering wheel u should see a few philips head screws. Get a stubby philips head screwdriver and undo these. The instrument panel should become loose. Drop the steering wheel down as low as it will go and gently wriggle the panel out. This will give u access to the back of the cluster. I'd change all the bulbs they are just a few cents in your local motor factor. If there is a high/low light setting in your car some of these bulbs may be slightly different/ bigger. It's very much a diy job, I think the hardest part was wriggling the panel out enough to get access to the back. This will only come out so far as obviously there are wires for power running to the back of the cluster. I hope this makes sense and good luck.

Heya Ger.
Thanks for the help
:)
I managed to get it out last week grand, but thanks so much for the advice.
Terrified about doing anything wrong.
I was able to get the majority (I think 13) of the bulb replaced easily,
But there were 3 ones with blue clips that not one of the 13 motor factors (And Halfords for all the good it did me) were able to identify.
I had to order those ones from Subaru so I should have them soon.
Apart from all the rust, brake lines and every bushing, the only things I need to deal with now are finding a new clip for the front grill (as ones busted) and what battery I need to buy.
