The gearbox takes 3.5 ltr, torque drain plug to: 69Nm

The rear diff takes 0.9 - 1.1 ltr, torque drain plug to: 49Nm

the diff isn't pressurised is it??

No its not.

Just like engine and gearbox oil the diff oil should be drained while warm/hot so it flows easier and takes the dirt with it.

Oh and by the way way you can pick up a square socket for opening the drain plug on the diff in Halfords. Or if your around Dublin i'll lend ya mine

Just seen this now, yeah ya do fill gearbox oil from the dipstick

drain out through bottom hole in the diff and fill into the top hole, can't remember what size socket though!

Did anyone ever consider using Redline ShockProof oil for everyday use?

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-1023-redline-heavy-shockproof-gear-oil-75w-140.aspx

I bought new gearbox and was advised by the guy from 22b.com site to run on this Redline oil, which is designed for heavily loaded racing diffs and gearboxes.
As my type-R gearbox has gone recently I consider to use it in the new one.
The gear change for the first 10 minutes while the gearbox is cold may be a bit rough and heavy but... if it helps?

How do ya think? :ponder2:

Does that not mean then you'll have higher wear in the first few mins? :dontknow:
