Well lads,

Self and G/F goin too lansarote next week, I just want too know of activities that some of ye may have done, Prices& that. Jetski'n, quad biking, sky diving, paragliding, bungy jumping, Mountain biking, Sand surfing, Etc.........
Did any one go on the submarine, is it any good.
Really wanna go scuba diving again, so is it any good there???
What else and were they good/Bad??? All opinions please.
Mad into active sports, Also is the volcano trip worth going on.

Thanks
John

Trip to the volcano is definitely worth it.

Hire a car for 3 days & you'll get to see everything there is to see on the island, its not a big place. Little villages on the very north of the island have fresh fish coming straight off the trawlers, you can't go wrong.

Theres a couple of karting tracks, one between Arrecife & Puerto del Carmen & another one about 2 miles up the mountains (under the 3 big towers). You can't miss them

Haven't done any of the other things you're asking about but windsurfing is very popular as the place is seriously windy.

As above, volcano is worth a look. Hire a car as Brian says for three days or so and you'll cover the whole island no problem. The jet ski hire is done from the end of the pier in puerto del Carmen down near the old town. Unless its changed. Paragliding is run from there aswell i think. Did the submarine last time i was there and was ok and passed a few hours. Saw the quad bike trail flyers but didn't do it but i'm sure you'll find your way...........enjoy, have a good one

Cheers lads, Thas where i'm stayin in puerto del carmen,
So volcano trip is well woth it, What does it involve???
So leave the submarine for the last day if i just wanna pass time, Great info,
Ya the fresh fish be lovely so it would, Will they put you carting with groups, cause it wouldn't be as fun just the 2 of us. Quadding will be serious though, she's a head case on them!! :icon_headbang:
Can ya rent a scoob??? :subaru:

You'll do well to rent a scoob John, only saw 1 of them over there the whole 2 weeks I was there last time & I drove the whole island numerous times.

You can go for a camel ride on the volcano. Apart from that the herd you onto tour buses and drive around a track through the volcanos and stop here & there for you to take pics. Would be a great road if you had the scooby though, one way track just barely wide enough for the bus to pass through it

Nice restaurant at top of volcano too where they cook food like chicken etc over an open hole, sort of bbq without the flame really.

Dont forget to bring your licence and passport with you to the hire shop if you are hiring a car, get a nice cabriolet for handy money over there.Normally wouldn't be my kind of thing but when you're there its great........

Youll hire a basic car for 85euro for the week over there-I hired one at the airport off "5cars". As the lads said-youll easily see the whole place in a few days but it is a bit windy-word of warning-the wind make it seem cooler than it is-but it makes you burn worse!

theres a great boat trip thats a must,do it near the end of your holiday as you will get sun burnt on it if its good weather, also go for the gold pack as this one is only for adults ,the other one is full of children shouting. http://www.lanzaroteguidebook.com/puerto-calero/excursions/catlanza.php

defo do the karting, its has one of the biggest tracks in europe and the karts are quick enough to drift in the corners.as the lads said rent a car for about three days and youll have plenty of time to see the island and theres lots to see, try see every thing as there all worth it.

theres two parts to puerto del carmen old town and new town but are right beside one another, the new town is alittle more livelier then the old town but some of the best resturants are in the old town, there lots of different foods on sale from mcdonalds/burgerking up to lovely italian, mexican and chinese resturants, there also "the american indian" resturant that does lovely steak and has a band on most nights that do rock covers, theres also the casino across the road from thereand there on the sea front that is very nice during the day for lunch with sea views, you could nearly sit there all day, theres also a scottish lad there called "scotty" who runs a comedy night with irish ballets and its brilliant, ask any of your reps and they will point you in the right diection.
in all its a great place ,just make sure you use sun cream as the wind over there makes your body think its not burning until you hit your shower after the sun goes down and then your fucked, have a good one

Agree with Duffman there-The american indian is great for burgers and steak and its on the main strip. Also a lovely italian and steakhouse across the road from each other near the big spar. Avoid Lanis restaurants-crap. Go to the old town for breakfast anyway-only 2.50 or so. DO NOT let the pr people persuede you to have a cocktail in the afternoon-they will land with one with about ten shots of cheap spirits in it and you'll puke everywhere.

Cheers lads all great info, The cruise thing seems good, i must have a look at that,
We dont drink but i'd say grat craic, was on one in gran canaria before and they let us climb the masts and dive off them into the water. i have a plan a brewing  :icon_twisted:
I'll ask about the car so as it seems too be worth it and not that expensive.
thats really cool cooking the chicken from the volcano, I thought it was dormant, Can ya see lava??? Be cool if ya could, Really lookin forward too it. !!!! I'll miss the pitch and putt though :icon_cry:

So really must try this american indian, i love my steak, I know its probally the wrong place too ask this one, What about salad's, or chicken salads,

I used to go to Lani's up near the casino in the new town. Monster t- bone steaks cooked on the flame grill in full view of the whole restaraunt. You'll get cheaper mind but its nice to treat yourself if you're into the steaks

Plenty of nightlife if you're looking for it. Theres a cocktail bar called Waikiki on the main strip beside the sea , behind that theres lots of disco bars and so on. Think theres night clubs and disco bars on the main strip aswell now. You'll find it i'm sure........all in all i always enjoyed it there. As the lads were saying , watch that breeze in the day time, it'll make you fry.....i know from experience, got an awful doing on my back and shoulders even with plenty of cream on, can't be too careful......
