Bought a house a year and a bit ago, but its completely different climate now so not much advice i can give you.

.Although we di manage to get a tracker morgage and our repayments are peanuts at the momment/

Applied to EBS for a second morgage a couple of months ago aswell....
Got approved for it but decided not to buy a second property at the moment......

yes- as i thought
tough but not impossible

like a car price the house to sell it will go IMO
if 6 out of 10 are rejected - 4 out of 10 succeed!!!

I applied to the affordable housing scheme about 8 months ago and have still not heard anything. Probably not gonna get approved seeing I'm only 21... Dunno.

Exactly.. Houses that are priced right are moving, although trying to convince the people selling what is fair is a different story altogether...

The banks are lending.. But only to people in steady jobs with an immaculate credit history...

Thats a long time Steve but with the economy the way it is, and the complicated way the council do business theres probly a huge backlog!

Your age shouldnt have anything to do with it, once your within the earnings bracket you should be fine

Just for god sake, don't commit to paying over the odds for the new place untill you know what exactly you are getting for your own!
I was going mad trying to buy a deralict cottage in the middle of my village this time last year, It was a big fixer upper type place,
I was doing everything I could think to make it happen! and I was earning good money back them! :icon_cry:
But it didn't work out, and I thank god for unanswered prayers!
I would be screwed now if I had that to pay for now!
Dan

i will take a serious hit on the peak price to flog this place
but no matter- the other guy is deparate to sell
