HAWKEYE STi

Hey guys. Hope all is well!

Just posting on behalf of a buddy from work. I'll get him to join ASAP!
He's looking for a hawkeye STi (2.0 jdm) I told him that this forum would be the place to start.
He's looking for a good clean genuine example with decent spec and mileage.
Sure if anyone knows about a hawkeye for sale just let me know.

Cheers guys!

2.5 can be troublesome. Good few been on here over the years with drivers who had mechanical sympathy and keep the machines well serviced and never had any problem .

Problems seem to start when boost is turned up when mapping . But standard cars have been know to have Ringland issues and hg issues .

Once I had mine mapped I got overly paranoid about it and had proper pistons and headgaskets fitted and few other small bits .

But never had the car let me down in nearly 6 years of ownership . Lovely torquey motor I will say and lovely to drive

Did you not have overheating incidents from memory?

Yup she got a bit hot on a track day all right and a few other occasions . Never boiled her but got above normal range . Maybe twice or three times over a 18 month to 2 year period then I got ali to do a job on it and not been a bother since .

I'd say constant driving the yoke hard would eventually have led to more serious issues but thankfully I had enough sense to recognise a possible bigger problem down the road .

Yep as adressed issues.

The fact they're known for giving issues and once work is done their seems to be no problem, it's a safe bet to factor in work when buying one, unless hasn't already had the issues addressed.

No decent Hawkeyes for sale on here so?
I know id rather buy off here then some random fella on done deal whose had the car 2 months and is after rallying it with no maintenance at all.

Let me know if anything comes up

Generally the jdm demand a premium over euro spec cars. So does the difference in price allow for dropping in forged pistons and Good hg and have a 2.5 that's reliable and torquey

That's it. Wonder how much you'd save either way.
