Honda civic question....

My dad, god love him, is wearing me about buying a Honda civic! He has driven corollas for the last 30yrs. He's now 75, but a fresh 75 in fairness and wants a 2013/2014 civic, in petrol. Either 1.3 or 1.4. I know nothing about modern Hondas so wondering does anyone know about them. Whats the difference between the 1.3 and 1.4 and which is best etc.... Or are there any versions to avoid. Any advice would be great. Cheers

My friend had one for about 4years the 1.3 hybrid saloon model trouble free very frugle it is assisted by the electric motor not fully driven so it is an electric and combustion engine together ,I had an older honda and it just would not die now I've heard from a honda mechanic that the 2017/2018 civic is troublesome the 1.0 vtec turbo model they apparently keep coming back to the showroom with mechanical and electric problems

Lad i know has the small engined one turbo thing is a pig on juice
