Now that the weather is improving (slightly) its time to get back on the bike. Bought this 10 years ago for E1000 and she is still going. I used to do 100 miles a week up until a year ago before moving to Florida. Have to build back up to that again.

Any road bikers on the site?

This is my TREK 1000, 1999 model

No pics of my bike, but here's a few of me racing it in France last year.

That's why I do DH. Momentum & gravity are your friends

I done some mountain biking too, fell off this time last year and knocked the sh1t out of myself, the brusses are only cleared up there last month :wall:

Sometimes...until you take a tumble!

Very easy to get 50kph downhill and it really gets the adrenaline pumping, not so easy to get 50kph on a road bike

All jokes aside, I be shittin it on a road bike.

I detest coming off the bike on tarmac. I'll hapilly throw myself off drops etc in the woods but am terrified of falling on the road.

Hit a bit a gravel and your painting the road with your flesh. No thanks...

1 inch wide tyre on a wet road...fun and games staying upright

Yeah... momentum and gravity have never been my friend! Much like Pete... the injuries I incurred when I ricocheted off a tree wheren't pretty.... picking pine needles out of my ass for bout a week! Not my cup a tea... Moto X on the other handle... yes please!

I can manage to get the speed up, its the lack of weight to keep the rear wheel on the ground I have a problem with :comp26:

Thats why skinny feckers like us make great Mountain Climbers

Getting to old for anything to extreme i thinks... :icon_sad: and with old age comes fear!

Used to be big into freesytle bmx riding/skateboarding years ago and had absolutley no fear... can't even stand on a step ladder anymore with near crapping myself! :shock2:

Stick to surfin now... lot more civilised and water don't hurt so much when you fall!

Here's a new addition to my baord collection taht I bought last month!

Very nice bike you got there andy.

I road raced for three years from 1990-1993.

I got a cup for club time trials in 1993.

I was in the finglas ravens.

Until I broke my shoulder on mothers day 1993. Couldn't put weight on it anymore.

After a couple of years I spent £1000 on a Canandale M500 mountain bike and did that for a while but I sold her to buy my first motor bike a KMX.

I am planning on getting back to the cycling this year though.

Thinking about Triathlons if I can get fit enough.

@ yogi with out being smart do you have to cylce up hill first or do you start at the top and just go down ?it sounds like good craic is there many clubs for it through out ireland or is a small group of friends just getting together?

Thats a spankin' bike you have there. I was a cycle courier on & off for over 10 years. Used to do over 200 miles a week. You get used to the rain, but the wind is another story. Bought a LaPierre RCR 500 a couple of months ago. T'is cheap and cheerful, but does the job. Saving a few quid on petrol too eh?
