I had 225/35/18's on a classic, and even after getting the arches rolled they were still rubbing :wall:

Indeed mate! You can't brake the feckers! :D I love mine!!

Re: how big are your wheels ???

17" x 7.5 are the most i'd go on a classic!

18" x 8 on bug eye on!

Re: how big are your wheels ???

I've 17" 225/45 on mine. Thinking of changing to 16"'s again though

Re: how big are your wheels ???

225/40/17 O.Z's!

Was thinking of going up to 18's but the good advice of the I.S.D.C. members advised me not too :subaru:

Re: how big are your wheels ???

Hello Lads,

17's on the Classic
18"s on the S204

Cheers,

Michael
P.S. Be sure you have enough clearance on your wheel to allow for any intended brake upgrades etc. Rota GRA's on 17's are a great choice for a Classic

Re: how big are your wheels ???

255 19 ZR 35. I'm going to dread changing the tyres but they're holding up well so far.

As far as Scoobies I think its fairly settled amongst most Scooby sites around the world that the 16 inch wheel gives the best balance of handling and comfort in the Classic. 17 inch may look better but reduce the cars handling and increase the unspring mas of the wheels. 18 inch may look well but will foul the arches and ruin the ride quality.

On the New age cars 17 inch are fine, 18 inch are probably just as good but anything more would again ruin the handling and ride. The 235 with of the tyres on the S204 is probably as wide as you can go on the post 2006 STI's and with AWD you really dont need any bigger boots than that anyway.

On the 2008 STI it comes with 17 inch wheels as standard but there are 245 40 ZR 18's on the options and they are the ones to have as the guys in EVO magazine said the arches are so flared on the new STI that it makes the 17 inch wheels look a little anemic.

Re: how big are your wheels ???

You won't get Rubbing if you go for 18 x 7.5 but with the likes of Speedlines which are 18" x 8 you'll get it all the time! Richie in Pro Parts will tell you exactly what wheel will fit your model car! Give him a shout! :subaru:
