"First things first. The looks. And Im sorry but Im still not sold. The standard car looks like a lightly melted Rover 25. With its flared aches, this looks like a lightly melted Rover 25 with bingo wings"   you got to love Jezza

What does he know?

yeah your right knows fcuk all..probably hasn't driven any other cars to compare it to...in his 25 YEARS as a motoring journalist.
lets not forget he was a subaru fan..he always picked um over evo's
but his comments about subaru drivers is as always just something "controversial" for him to say..as he gets older his reviews contain less about cars and their merits and more about his perceptions and judgemental attitude towards who actually buys the car.. you seen the m3 and audi rs4 piece recently on top gear where he went on one his rants about m3 drivers picking that bloated simple merc amg 63 over an m3...showed him up for the old man he now is...old men buy jags because of the image yet their sh!te cars..
I agree with him but when he says Subaru are in trouble but..I've said it before about this impreza it could be the last one you see..Toyota are ready to swallow them up
"comes with less toys than an Ethiopian birthday boy"
HOLY sh*t thats bad!
but what the fook does he know, Subaru's are a completely different car class than hes million pound cock shrinkers that hes usually used to talking about :?
jc is a journalist first of all and a car fan second, he has the job cause he is funny as fck, he does not necessarily have to know anything about cars imo
In some fairness to Jezza he does say the old subaru's were more refined than the Evo's or the escorts, but as said above he does have a low opinion of subaru drivers in general
I wonder did JC really drive the new 08 STI as the pictures accompanying the piece in the Times were of an STI on Jap plates. Seems unusual of him not to have photos of it from his "test drive".
After years of reviewing cars I think he gets more of a laugh at being as controversial as possible rather than giving a true and accurate description of what the car is actually like to drive.
Yeah only watch Top Gear for the comic value now - subscribe to EVO magazine for my monthly dose of slightly less opinionated reviews of the latest sportscars
Re Magazines : Jap Performance and Preformance Tuner subscibtions every christmas
Re "scooby not havinf enough toys"! I wonder what he'd thing of the spec c version of the MY08 impreza??
