Im a virgin!

Woogy

Middle Lane Hogs
Knew that title would get your attention!Well can you believe it that the only Scooby ive been in is my own and its only a 1.6,ive never got the chance to get a spin in or drive a WRX.And ive always wanted to know what the experience is like.A friend of mine who has been in a few told me bring a box of tissues if i ever do get in one!Maybe at a next event somone will give me the opportunity.
But what i want to ask is what other people experenced when they were first got into one and what there thoughts were?

it went something along the lines of " these seats are really............fuuuuuuuuuuuucccccckkkkkiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnn hellllllllllllllll :D

A friend of mine gave me the keys to his 03 STi a couple of years ago, I wasn't really expecting the rush of adrenalin that hit me when I gave it some stick. Getting back in to my 2.0GL felt like driving a big heavy sponge in comparison... I'd got the bug and had to get my own WRX.... and had one within weeks :subaru:

this is it exactly

Well the door handle or the handle above the window are generally know as the "b'jasus handles"
when you take of it's the first thing they go for !!

first scooby i was in was a standard 98 STI type-R, SAVAGE YOKE!!! he gave me and a few of my mates a lift down the town in it a few years ago, we were in the town before all the lads had there seat belts on!! (no joke!) it was the first fast car i was ever in besides a few of my dads rally cars and i really was fu' king shocked! , i physically could not believe that power from the thing, and it was bog standard apart from a full stainless. ive been hooked on Subaru's ever since, nothing can compare to them, sound, drive or experience! he bought an Evo 5 after that and a week later he was looking in the auto trader for another scooby :D

recently my dads mate (Tommy Graham, minted!) gave him his '03 STI (which he only got the day before!) out at mondello, he was doing some rally cross that day and wanted to go drinking so he gave it to my dad to take home, he told him to let me have a blast of it, and i did, and i had a constant smile on my face ever since. Thank you Subaru for making such wonderful cars.

:subaru:

The first scooby i ever had a drive in was the day i went to look at

my present impreza. The owner (the other side of 40) would'nt let me

have a test drive but said he'd take me out himself.

We went up a side road near his house, gently at first to warm it up

then woosh and we were doing a ton over a hump back bridge.

It was scary coming home the night i went to collect it,having all that power

and still over 2 years later i still get the same enjoyment every day.

everything about them is just class, first one i was in was a type-r,could not believe the power ive been hooked since :worship: :worship:

first drive I had in one was a 98 type R that the girlfriends brother bought.. unreal.. couldn't stop smiling every time I drove it so a a few months later I bought a 03 sti which i still have and it still puts a smile on my face (and a empty wallet for petrol...lol) every time I drive it

first drive i had in a turbo was with phil kirwan, subaru dealer from wexford.and nodges comment could nt put it any better.every time you get in the scooby its so hard to keep it under 100kph (except when my conscience is with me - the missus ) .

I ve been driving since 1996 ,subarus since 1998 (all 1.6s ,except one spin in my bro s old car which is now mine and i had to take it easy, sorry urabus ) and have always wanted the turbo, got urabus s old classic last year and hav nt looked back .

Woogy , once you pop ya just cant stop .......get yourself a spin in a turbo its like a legal drug !

Nodge - I p*ssed myself laughing here, couldn't have said it better myself.  This is exaclty what it was like for me, "How these seats, they must hhhuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuggggggggggg.......ffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk mmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee......!!!!!!!!!!!*THUMP THUMP THUMP of the heart* This was the first time I drove in the MY03 WRX I bought in South Africa.

Woogy - put is this way, I've been living in Ireland now for 9 months.  I'm used to driving cars (BMW M3 (Great Car), Mazda RX8, etc) - no public transport safe enough in South Africa.  So I thought I'd give owning and driving a MY03 WRX a go.  I never looked back - as I said, been in Ireland 9 months, and couldn't bring myself to buy a small run around.  I bite the bullet, saved up - and now I'm driving Johnny5's MY97 WRX Classic.  Trust me - worth the wait.  Felt like I popped my cherry all over again.

5 years on and I still remember the drive home from the garage after buying my first turbo, the best experience.
I brought a workmate for a spin yesterday in my sti6, the quickest car he had ever been in before was a bmw 318ci, and he actually sat there and giggled like a schoolgirl all the way, and this fella is 33 - Say no more :subaru:

Cheers Niall!

Thanks everyone for your replys.Cant wait to get a spin in one!And cant wait to own one someday!!!

The usual first feedback I hear when I give someone a lift is: "Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.... !!!"
The first reaction is that they grab the "Jesus-Handle" and then they get a smile in their face which stays there until they get off the car :headbanger:

But you should have seen my moms face when I picked her up at the airport last year the first time and went down the M50..."Are we taking off now? Is this a plane or what? Do you want to kill me? I think I get a stroke..." etc.

When I bought the car two years ago, I got it unmodyfied. I thought it is great and doesn't need any mods.
But after 6 month driving my Scooby I started modding it. I played around with boost etc.
The one day I overboosted the car with 1.7 Bar and gave her a lash. My adrenalin went up through the roof! Honestly... I never had a faster performing car then my Subaru.

I mean I had a BMW M5 with roughly 650 BHP. But this baby now has a much faster response and acceleration then the M5. He was just faster in the end (round about 320 KM/h).
But where can you drive that fast except on a proper german Autobahn :ponder:

Axel

I had to wait 10 years to get my WRX. I worked for a Subaru dealership in Dublin and took an Irish Impreza Turbo home for the night. It was fast. I bought a 2.0 sport last summer with a view to upgrading to a WRX which I did. I test drove a WRX RA V-Ltd with 285bhp. The dealer drove it out to warm it up.he put the foot down and I let out a Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuckinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Helllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll half way through a sentence. Pure addiction mate. Better than any class a

How ya woogy,
up the rebels!!!
Well  my first experince in a scooby was kinda tame in comparison to the others, it wasnt my car and my mate didnt have any intention of driving it like he was late for mass.............Well not on that occasion anyway! I previously owned a turbo astra coupe and for a F.W.D. car it was surprisingly quick, even tho it was only 220brake. I always loved the sound of a scoobie so when i was changing my car, there didint seem to be any alternative than to get myself a SUBARU of some sort.So I recently got a legacy B4 and a few days later a female friend of mine said she'd like a little spin in it,so off we went on a good stretch of road (which had a little bridge in it) and me being eager to show the cars performance, i kinda drove it on,and i can tell ya that each time the second turbo kicked in that girl was in a heap, she didint know whether to laugh, scream, pass out or anything else, all i heard while keepin my foot to the mat and eyes on the road was  :shock:eek:ooooooooooooooohhhhhhh my gaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwd  whaaaaaaaats happeniiiiiiiiiiiiiiing??????  :eek:mg:going over the bridge we almost went airborne, twas mental,so going by her reaction it was not something she'd forget so easily, she did actually mention that she needed to change some undergarments after that experience, and she kinda stressed it wasnt from the need to pass water either. If ya catch my drift!!
