got my renewal this morning :pray: :pray: from the AA (axa under-writer)


last year €779 , not bad imo

this years renewal (exact same policy) €938 WTF :angry1:

so rang up to question increase , to which i was told it was to do with rates and ladies drivers prices being more equal .

so she asked me to confirm all my details ,which i did and she said hang on two mins to see what she could do . i was expecting her to come back with a €800+ price , so when she came back with a renewal price of €687 :shock2:

how surprised was i !,, thats some drop for the exact same cover seems like they just pick numbers out of the air but i think il have a quick call around but probably go with that !

from putting me into a bad mood for the day, turned out to be prettty good one !

This is what I hate about all insurance and road tax here. Just as you say, looks like they pull numbers out of the sky or according to their mood, or maybe - weather she/he liked your voice or not.

ring around if you dont question it they'll all ride you no sense of loyalty with them :hand:
 
Just went through the same thing two weeks ago with AXA. They send me a 1150 renewal... dropped into their Bray office and had a chat and down to 950. Wasn't happy with that as AA online (using AXA as underwriter) were quoting 761. AXA wouldn't match that, so moved to AA and got another 20 off. AA seems to be the place to get the insurance now as good cover and best prices this past while. :icon_headbang:

Deffo pays to ring around and ask for a better price and 400 in the diffence is mad. :phone:

Annoyed me though as with AXA for 7 years and in the end AXA still covering me now too, but through AA.
It's complete BS that they try wring another few hundred out if you are complacent enough to just accept their initial renewal notice. :nono:
 
Had a mad drop in mine 300 of a drop I think
Then got a call the next day saying it was wrong that they overcharged me 18 euro

i go through this every year with AXA, renewal comes in 200-300 more than the year before i then call into them and talk face to face and get a better quote all the time, i also do the whole call every number in the book and find it stupid that a 31 year old with a maximum NCD cant get a quote :wall:
 
if the AA get a sniff of points they dont want to know ya, i was never with them but they often rang to try and quote i was going through a bad patch with points for a while when they rang she asked i told her then all i heard was beep beep beep beeep there she was gone.................
 
It's always worth to ring them up, I've rang them up the last few years and always received a better deal by just asking
 
same here . if you dont ask you wont recieve . always tell them that someone else is 50 quid cheaper and 9 out of 10 times they will match or beat it
 
im jus amazed at how much of (a) an increase over last year ,and (b) how much it dropped with no difference in policy !


im yet to ring around to see if anyone else comes close , but will still try and see if they will match "mystery insurance " who quoted me €50 less . :whistle:
