@ Eric do the rangers use it think all the lads going to Chad are doing a 2 day course with him.

Krav Maga is good very effective. I would recommend everyone to know some form of self defence especially with the way the country is now

I agree have a shop in town and every day i am finding myself in some sort of scrape with junkies or drunk's :angry1:

I'm hoping to start private lessons in kickboxing and self defence over the next few months. So if antone is interested let me know

My girlfreinds dad was only telling me about this during the week. They are doing some of it in the Air Corps to keep fit. Looks mad!!

They do yes. It's basically fighting by all means available. That video shows a lot of good moves alright but it's actualy more basic then that.

Knees, elbows, boot, fist. as many as possable as quickly as possable. The disarming of weapons is draw from other styles. Obviously If they have weapons you need to learn to disarm them first but the basic fighting is what it's all about.

Kill or be killed.

Yeah Eric u summed it up nicely. Its pretty much do anything you can to kill the other person.

That stuff is very fancy looking (dont forget its for Demonstration so it looks good) the reality of it is brutal. Its not fancy like that. No one is going to let you kick them with good technique or punch them

You get taught like a number of base maps and what ever works after, that anything goes.
The gun and knife stuff is class

:lolpoint: :lolpoint:

OK.... the demonstrator is about twice the weight of the poor recipient!!  It looks like a more aggressive form of Aikido, adapted for close quarter combat.... but then any form of fighting is effective if you can fight with confidence!!
