http://www.isdc.ie/forum/showthread.php?38565
It's been a good while and there's been enough updates, it's not worth reopening. But feel free to read through if you like and use this for a reference to see what I started with.

Reason for sale Updates:
I DID buy the 1978 Subaru Leone Coupe (YAY! Vintage-Goal Achieved!!)
But... Driveway is crowded and I have a very-understanding wife! Also YAY!)

Reason for selling:
I'm saving cash for a respray of the 78' Subaru Leone, to avoid getting a loan. We are in the process of buying a house, so payments are out of the question until after we're sorted house-wise.

About the car:
I've owned it since Aug 2013 and have put around 20,000 miles on it and it hasn't missed a beat!
Purchased from another ISDC member
Irish Market car (saves a %age during insurance time) vs 1.5/1.6s from Japan
Gets great fuel mileage, I only used 3/4 tank on a fairly spirited drive from Dublin to Galway and back
(Full fuel log from beginning of ownership)

Modifications: Rally Theme

Lift: (See comparison pic to OEM Impreza below)
2" lift - Done the correct way!
Resprayed the wheels white
Resprayed the headlight surrounds Gloss Black

Oriciari Bits:
-Rear Wing
-HID Oriciari/UK300 adjustable head lamps
-Urethane Side and Rear Skirts (not currently on, but included with sale)
-Set of Red rally style mudflaps (not currently on, but also included)

-VERY Clean and Tidy interior

-Slight parking lot damage but very fixable (daily driver, not a show car hehe)

Recent Maint:
(I have log book and ALL receipts since Aug 2013 with miles indicated for each part/maint/fuel up)
-Set of 4 new Tires
-New Lambda Sensor
-Replaced Front Left wing with OEM (old wing had dent)
-Front clip respray
-4 NEW 06' Forester XT struts and springs
-All Low-Miles JDM 06' Forester XT Lateral Links and trailing arms
-All Low-Miles JDM 06' Forester
-4 wheel tracking
-Air Filter/Oil Filter/Oil
-Cabin Air Filter
-Good Used Pirelli tires
-Removed side skirts to inspect for rust and underseal the rocker panels
-NO RUST on floors or rockers, but currently loving the look of skirtless lifted goodness, so not re-installed.

Could use:
Dash clock - never worked, but cd player shows time
Headliner - was re-skinned in black vinyl, but the adhesive was the incorrect one (not so perma-bond)
Two bolts broken off, that hold on plastic splash shield under engine.

Body:
No rust
Engine bay is dusty, but clean (no grime/leaves/mud... they cause rust)
Normal Tesco-Installed door dings *grr*
a few scratches from neighbors cat in clear coat on boot lid
a few scratches on left mirror

Pictures taken during my lunch break today:

Loving my side-skirtless-ness, I am afraid of NO RAMPS!

Bump for updates:

I got Advisories on two of the four tires on my NCT and my Lambda sensor/O2 Sensor was out of range ever so slightly, which I already new it was on it's way out. Readings at idle were grand, but at 2,700RPM were 1.13(So outside accepted range of something like .93 to 1.03)..

So I did the following:
4x new tires installed two Saturdays ago
Brand new OE Matched - Denso Oxygen Sensor installed yesterday

Also, this weekend I'm picking up an STi Genome exhaust, I think it would clean things up a bit, and make it sound a little bit more grrr. Following the exhaust install, it'll be retested.

Genome Exhaust installed, so now it's running a stainless cat-back and it sounds great, but not too loud.

I figured I could just replace like for like, but I decided to do upgrading when regular maint is required has resulted in a very tidy and fun car...

What are your plans for the leone?

I'm going to be restoring it once I've a garage, so until then, I've just been collecting bits and pieces. I've a shelf in the spare bedroom that's looking like a visit back to OEM 1978! It's really just a matter of some minor (but important) rust repair. The interior is back to mint shape, but the scuttle leaks some, so I've no interior in it at the moment. that spare tire caused some rust and a previous owner tried, but didn't succeed in a repair patch and so it drips at your feet. And the front wings were not so good, but I've a clean set off a 1978 Brat truck.

So really, all I have left is; getting the car to a body shop for rust repair and respray, then re-install the interior and do a tune-up. I'm looking at a non-perl yellow version of this as a color, nearly a factory option-match and suits a 70s car:

Here's another recent restoration of a 1973 Coupe that would be very similar:

Impreza update:
I haven't got the thing back for the retest, BUT it's running way better turns out my NEW lambda sensor from Micksgarage was faulty, so I got a new OEM one. Runs like a top and emissions are below the mark again. I just haven't had time to get it retested. I'll probably do it in the new year. I wont be driving much since I'm off the next couple weeks.
