Alright lads

i bought a 98 STI about a year ago now that needed a bit of work its all finished now
and has been sitting in the GF garden the last 8 months

the thing is when i was getting the work done i took reg plates off and cant find them now
and i never got a log book with the car, what do you need to do to get a log book? is it just as simple
as bringing the Chassis number to the tax office and they will give me the reg number :ponder:

not sure but dont think its that simple
do you have any documentation to prove you own the car?????
:dunno: :dunno:

i stand to be corrected but technically you dont own the car then....
you cant apply for a duplicate logbook without proof of ownership

Contact your mate and get him to get the log book!

If it was in his name it still is so he has to request one from Galway, just needs his name and address and the make of car, they will have the rest of the info! When your mate gets it you sign the back and send it back to Galway! :subaru:

Weird set up though buying a car with out seeing the log book even if he is a mate! :ponder: If I was buying a car off my brother I'd still want a log book! :dunno:

What exactly is the log book? Is it piece of paper with the ownership details or something completely different?
